People think clowns are scary because of the Uncanny Valley; they look almost human, but they look a bit wrong, and behave a bit wrong, sort of like zombies.

That said, I don't find this particular clown scary.

Really? I skimmed past this picture, assuming it was an article on some kind of freaky serial killer clown (because there are lots of stories about freaky serial killer clowns), and when I saw what the article was actually about, I was like, "WTF? Why would they choose such an eerie photo?" But maybe my reaction is just the effect of those shrooms I had earlier.

I don't think clowns are scary...I don't like them, they aren't funny, but not scary :)

hahaha, I can't remember actually if I've seen it or not. I remember there being a clown in Poltergeist under the bed...I think anyway.

Oh, yes! I had a childhood friend who had a clown doll that was eerily similar to the one in Poltergeist, and I remember being in her room with the lights off and we FREAKED OUT.

Not sure why the hell she had that thing.

But, in general, I'm actually okay with clowns. Those teeth give me the heebie jeebies though.
