Sorry, I'm not sure the term even makes sense. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the urban dictionary (urbandictionary.com), because it's just generally accepted.
Yep, here it is from Urbandictionary.com:
1. On blogs, a person who posts something for the soul purpose of gaining comments (usually positive) from other users.
2. One who constantly desires coments on their blog or guestbook.
Probably the most obvious comment whore post is the "Comment here or I'm taking you off my friends list." While there may be legitimate reasons to see who's reading you and taking people off your list who don't, it's mostly a way to gulit-trip people into saying, "Hey, I like you. Please keep me." Bah!
But this one does. This one gets her comments up by replying to EVERYONE who replies to her. EVERYONE, that is, but me.
So, say she has 20 people respond, including me. There'll be a total of 39 comments: the original 19 commenters and the 19 responses from her to each of these commenters and then that 1 comment from me that just sits there and looks puny and lame and makes me feel like I done did say something stupid because she couldn't be bothered to answer it. :(
Darn her! I'm feeling a little LJ-neglected, too. dogofthefuture in particular hasn't responded to any of my comments or post, it seems, in like a long time. *sniff*
Aww, I'm sure he's just busy. But actually, from one of your readers' perspectives, I can say that it doesn't seem like you've posted very much in the past week or so. I haven't read anyone yet this morning (or last night) so maybe you have ten new posts :), but I bet he's missing your posts as much as you're missing his comments!
