Moving Out!
So I got the keys to my apartment yesterday. My room's not as small as I recall, it's 8'x10'. Average room size, yes? I have my own bathroom, a twin bed, standing closet, table and room for the bookcase I'm moving in over the weekend.
Connow took me over there, and met my landlord who ALWAYS wears all white. like, literally. so weird. connow napped in my bed while I cleaned (most of) the bathroom, and unpacked some stuff. i still have to move clothes & books, and buy some more storage junk. and move some furniture.
i met my roommates, who also go to Berkeley. they are both girls, and we share the kitchen. the kitchen which they, thankfully, keep respectably clean. there is grass outside my house, not concrete. and boys playing hackey sack. i have laundry in a shed in the backyard, and it's a block from telegraph and 1 mile from campus. yay!
today i am back at work, although i can't see for shit because my glasses make my vision blurry and weird and unfocused, so i stopped wearing them. which has a similar effect. i got a prescription for contacts, but can't afford the contacts. so i should get new glasses, but since i already wasted an eye exam getting a contacts prescription, my insurance won't pay for another eye exam. so basically, i'm blind. which should complicate next week, when i start school. oops.
tomorrow is cal orientation. it starts at 7:30am. Why would they do that to us? Don't they know we're college students? gah!
