Most of you will be in bed already when I post this, as we're 3 hours behind you over here on the left coast. Figure I'll post an update from what I was up to over the weekend, just in case there's anyone out there who hasn't been getting enough posts on their friend's lists to read lately...
Thursday was my birthday, so me and Mark went out for Sacred Date Night on thursday instead of the usual friday. Went over to Sports Authority for me to pick out my birthday pressie. Originally I was thinking of getting an incline/decline bench for the setup in the garage, as I don't really have a stable platform for doing any weight work (got the exercise ball, but that's for instability work). As we were looking at the different benches, most of which I didn't like (wobbly, didn't have an easy mechanism to change angle, etc), Mark looks up and suggests a bench in the next row over. It's part of a universal machine that's for sale on a serious discount (more than 50% off). A similar one can be found here:

So, that's what I gots for my birthday, along with a separate 7 foot olympic lifting bar and 250lbs in weights (machine didn't come with weight plates). Now we wait for the call from the delivery guys to figure out a time that works for all of us. After the sports store, we went to The Keg for a lovely dinner, and even walked out with a $25 gift card, which they usually give to tables that spend more than $100 on their meal. We didn't spend that much, but they certainly convinced to come back a second time.
Friday was a nice quiet night at home for our fearless heroes. We stayed home and caught up on tv shows we had DVR'd. Mark made a really nice chicken stir fry which was tres yummy. Usually we go out for dinner & a movie or something like that on fridays, but we've called a cease of dining out activities for the rest of the year. The only exception was my birthday dinner, and the search for morning caffeine. Can't get in the way of the caffeine... Oh! We also made cinnamon buns friday night. Mark recently got himself a KitchenAid Pro600 stand mixer (early x-mas pressie), and I wanted to learn how to make the evil yumminess.
Saturday was running errands in the late afternoon, after most of the morning and early afternoon was spent discussing what we wanted to accomplish & just snuggling up for a while. It was a rainy crappy day, so snuggling was certainly on the menu.
.
Most of today was with us puttering around the house. Sunday is usually the day to work on our "Honey Do" list, which we formulate and prioritize together. got some chores done, ran some errands, and came home for some fun. Mark made some rosemary ciabatta bread and has the ganache done on some holiday truffles (flavors: chambord, white russian, irish creme, and salted caramel fudge). I picked up some delicious fabric over the weekend, and am in the process of making Donal a new cotehardie for 12th Night. All the pieces are cut out & zig-zagged- I'll start putting things together tomorrow. Got some of the same pattern fabric for myself, but in a different color (his is green, mine is brown). Might see if I can get a new cotehardie done for myself for 12th Night also.
Getting ready for bed now, as I have a morning client to train tomorrow, followed by a massage appointment. You all have a lovely evening, and talk to you this week! :)
