the eagle has landed...

Got into Seattle last night without incident.  Travel, though long, was rather uneventful and not stressful, and we were on the ground almost half an hour early.

Mark was delighted at my arrival, as was I very happy to be reunited with our "us".  It had been a month since Mark headed off to seattle, and we were both missing our "us".

Seattle is beautiful!  As we were coming in, Mount Ranier was looming in the distance, and it can be seen from everywhere in town, when not obstructed by the huge trees that are everywhere.  The weather is warm, but not uncomfortable.  Stopped by the grocery store, and was delighted to see there is a natural food store the size of a regular grocery store, not just a corner market type place.  Where our apartment is, we can go to the plaza across the street, the Bellevue Bodega, and take care of dry cleaning, get our nails done (if we were into that), get groceries, pick up 5 different ethnic take-outs, have a pint, have a nice dinner, or go to the movies- all without ever getting into the car.  There is a walking trail right outside our building, and there are dedicated bike lanes on the roads (it's not a wide shoulder, it's for the bikes!).

Mark is very happy with work.  He got an hours worth of work done at home this morning, while enjoying a cup of coffee and my company.  He's got normal work hours, and the boss makes sure he has work/life balance.  I've said it before, but I think I'm starting to see the truth of the words- this move is probably the best thing that could have happened for us.  I'm excited to see how things develop for me now!
