I'm making strawberry cupcakes tonight, and the recipe calls for a strawberry balsamic sauce that may be one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted.
For every 1 cup of de-stemmed, halved strawberries, toss with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit for 15 minutes. Then put into a sauce pan with 1/2 tblspoon good balsamic vinegar. Simmer for 15 minutes or longer, with the lid on. Cool, puree. Devour. It's probably fantastic on ice cream, mostly I'm eating the extra out of the bowl with a spoon.
