Yay! Congrats on reaching 100 pages!!!! A long way to go. I still remember the exact scene that hooked me on this story

He was disoriented when he woke up in the middle of the night, partially because he wasn’t used to sleeping with anybody else, but also because it wasn’t clear to him why he had woken up. There had been no sound or motion, and he hadn’t been dreaming-not that he could remember, anyway. Then he looked over at Juliet and saw that her eyes were wide open.

It startled him at first, and he flinched, because he wasn’t sure whether she was awake or asleep. Her look was blank; she seemed to be staring at his sleeve; at nothing in particular.

“Juliet?” He reached for her, whispering, and she seemed struck suddenly back into motion, her eyes flicking up at him, pained, distressed at the interruption. For a minute when he looked down into the blue, he could see tears running down her face in the dark, and he felt as though he were seeing through her, hurting her somehow

The description in this scene still blows me away.

As for this chapter bb I love it!

“And you just-threw yourself into the middle of it?”

This line is so in character of Jack to me, I can hear the tone Jack would be using in this moment.

And this

“I understand that it’s what you want,” he continued quietly, “but I just- I need you here, Juliet. I can’t-”

:sniff: I can't imagine this being any other way. It would be so hard to do what Juliet wants and reconcile that with possibly losing her :(

but, most of all BLACK SMOKE, FLASH OF LIGHT, LOST ALL HOPE

This is amazing! And most definitely an improvement on what they gave us as canon! Can't wait for more :D

Squee! Thank you so much for that -- I'm always interested to hear what's effective: it seems like forever since I wrote that scene!
