(no subject)
So, I just came back from a swing dance party. The best party ever!!! Mr. Youngstrom sure knows how to throw a party:) For once there were more swinger guys than swinger girls, which made the party even better:) I had two mojitos, which is now my favorite drink. As I’ve noticed before, my dancing skills increase impressively when I get a few drinks in me:) I had so much fun. I could have dance all night. Unfortunately, my body needed sleep. I can’t wait until the initiation party.
Anyway, the summer is officially over and I’ve attended 3 of my 5 classes thus far. I really like them as far as I can tell even though I have 27 hours of class a week. My student teaching class is going to be awesome:) I’m student teaching in a kindergarten class!!! The students that I’ve met so far are absolutely adorable, but on the downside, teaching a kindergarten class will really challenge me to be creative with my teaching style. Oh for my EDUC 521 (science in elementary/ middle school), I feel like I’m back in grade school. My professor believes that I’ll learn how to teaching science to elementary/ middle school students by having me pretend to be the grade school student while observing her in action as a teacher. During my first class, I examined caterpillars and ran a “sink or float” experiment. For my first project, I have keep mealworms and make daily observations about them for a couple of weeks. For my second project, I have to observe the shape and orientation of the moon 3x a week for 4 weeks. This is a graduate level course:) My math in elementary/ middle school seems interesting too. The professor is very experienced and knowledgeable. However, on the downside, I’m already swamped with lots of work…
