I hardly ever check in here anymore, but that seems to be the trend. Anyone else still come here and read these things? I used to check at least once a day, but suddenly I was busy and not sure what to say to catch up and then it was just too much work and then no one else was here.
Hellooooo? Sounds echoey.
Well, what's up?
I'm still working at American Marine Bank in the new customer service center. It's pretty cool and I do like my job and coworkers. I really seem to be making friends especially with one woman my age. We crack each other up.
Maurice just started working at the Casino. Took six months of searching hard and two devestating let downs and some panick, but finally he has a job. It's a crappy shift, but it's another pay check and he says that the job is actually alright, except for the hours (9pm-4am).
We've been just-for-fun house hunting a bit. We won't be able to afford a house for awhile, but it's good to look. The not so fun part is when you find a house you actually like and know you can't have it. I just found a beautiful one yesterday. I think technically we could afford it. A mortgage wouldn't be that much more than the rent we're paying now and we have a good amount saved to put toward a downpayment. The thing after that would be that once we had a house, we wouldn't have much or any money to do anything else. Our savings would be gone and that's never a good thing, especially in this economy.
I think our jobs are safe, but everyone will tell you that you should always have at least 3 months pay saved away. Sigh...
Also thinking babies too. Could probably technically do both, but I'd rather not be THAT strapped for cash and scraping by.
All will turn out. Even though we won't be able to have the house I found yesterday, there will be one some day. I'm antzy about houses because now is the time to buy, though my parents assure me the housing market won't be going up for another two years probably. If it's meant to be, then it will be.
Well, I guess I had a little more to say than I thought.
Hope everyone is well.
