MAC Cosmetics Community

I would like to give everyone a heads up. I thought that members of the mac_cosmetics community would want to know what's going on. I have been running the community under the mac_cosmetics_m account. It has recently been removed and new mods have been put in place. I am trying to put up a message at Read more... )

Thanks for getting back to me! What happened? If it helps, you were doing a great job. I'm already sensing a negative 'tude from the two who are now in charge. How did they get control of the community? I thought maybe someone hacked into it. It just didn't sound like something we, as a group, would respond positively to.

Oops, sorry for screening. That's my usual default for non-friend entries, but I'll turn that off for this post.
Thank you! I was really trying to do a good job. Honestly, I wouldn't mind new ownership if they were doing a good job too, but people are already scared, and I don't think that's a good thing. There are more details about what happened at http://mac-cosmetics-m.livejournal.com/1324.html .

Yeah, I knew something was off when I saw their "test" post. It seemed like trolls had gotten in or something. The icon also annoyed me with the "hand of god" crap. Does the whole group know about this? I can't imagine taking over a group of this size like this without letting us all know. This can't be good... :-(

I think most people who have looked at the community today know that something weird is going on and that there are new mods, but I don't think they know why or how or anything like that, and from their comments, I don't think they are planning in informing people what happened. I tried to post the text of this entry, but I'm banned, and I don't think anyone is willing to risk the same fate. Unfortunately, I never thought of making an alternate account in case something like this happened.

this is nuts! man, after all the crap last year about absentee mods we finally get two AMAZING ones, and then this happens. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope order is soon restored to the universe, and you guys are re-instated. it feels very fascist at the moment, truly.

p.s. if you ever happen to find elusion's contact info, i would love it re: legacycollection! thanks so much, i know you have a lot to deal with right now. best of luck! i really hope you guys can come back soon, what an insane situation!

you guys are scaring people. and you are doing petty things in peoples' personal journals, like posting PWNED. as mods, you should be more responsible than saying neh-neh-na-na-boo-boo.

as long as you don't mess up the community i guess we can all live with it, i just wish y'all could have talked it out instead of creating random posts that do insult contributing members of the com. i truly hope this works out in a way that keeps everyone happy.

The community was stolen (or "hijacked") from its original creator (rhinestonekat/mac_admin), even though she was an active moderator. The community has been returned to her. The only "LJ Abuse" that occurred was when a small band of spiteful, petty people decided it should be theirs instead of mac_admin's. You fail.
