Had an urge to watch Hunchback of Notre Dame for some reason, and what can I say. The movie is still meh, but the music is fantastic. I never realised how fricken killer the songs were when I was younger--I just liked Hellfire and the Bells of Notre Dame, but really? Every fricken song and score is great.

...I blame the Nostalgia Critic's villain song thing for making me want to watch all those movies (though I may pass on a couple of them >.>;)

Ohhhhh? I love his stuff, but my computer haaaaaaaates his site. I wish his videos were on youtube ;_; They don't run properly and lag like crazy. I don't bother watching him the majority of the time...

Hunchback is not really a story for all ages, and I think that sort of shows- it has very dark themes for Disney and yet I think they cushioned it too much for it to play out as it did in the book or even in the classic, live action version too. However, as you said, the music gorgeous. My favorite character in this, as a kid was the gypsy leader/narrator, and I think this may have been why. I loved the menace he portrayed when the two men get "caught" by the gypsies.

Yeah, I was thinking about that today. It's like they tried too hard to make it kid-friendly when they realised they chose a story that was a bit too dark. All the stupid one-liners and bad humor really grate, and things just happen a bit too conveniently.

But yessss, the jester/gypsy leader/whatever he is guy is awesome. I heart him, his voice, and his design.
