So we got a new GM. He's stupid and has a whiny voice (different than Ed's whiny) and doesn't really think things through before he says them. He's managed to rub all of his star servers (although he never bothered to find out who they were) the wrong way by treating them shitt(il)y(?) and basically sucking at life. I understand that if you're the GM of a store, you want to run things your own way, but you can't just cease all old procedures without having put new ones which work better or at least equally, into place. Things DON'T get done, so if that's how you plan to run your new store -- the one you have NO experience running (and Becca, Caitlin, Tim, me, and even Bill have plenty of experience running), don't blame us.
Anyway, last Wednesday I met Kevin. He seemed ok. Last Thursday, I worked from 12-9 and made $47. I sold $451.86. That means that I made $1.14 over 10%. I also got yelled at by every single table, mostly for things that were not in my control. Like, we don't have flavored ice tea. And the lunch specials end at 2. And the soup and salad combo comes with a cup of soup, not a bowl. When I got back to Fred's house that night, I sat on his bed and sobbed for about 45 minutes. He told me that, short of being fired, he didn't think anyone should feel like doing that because of their job. And he's absolutely right. So on Friday, when I went in (on my DAY OFF), I asked Becca if ACA was hiring. And she said, "After I heard Ed was definitely leaving and we had a new gm, I asked my boss if he'd want to hire you. Since this place is going to hell."
So it's 9:47 right now. And I have a job interview in one hour and 13 minutes. And you're all going to cross your fingers. And I will be happy. Because I have a good feeling about this.
