Happy Birthday & Anniversary
The most important thing that has happened recently is the arrival home of my son from Iraq for 2 weeks r&r. It is so wonderful to see him and be able to hug him frequently. I am lucky to have most of the time that he is home off from work - my two weeks of vacation time :) Lots of events are also happening during this time: my son's wife has graduated from high school on Friday, June 3 (I am proud of her for completing all requirements including passing all of the exit exams required to receive an actual diploma!); my husband's birthday was also Friday; and last, but not least, yesterday (June 4) was our 24th wedding anniversary. My husband and I played hookey last evening and went out to dinner, went to Home Depot to do some research for some future remodeling/upgrades we are planning and then went to a movie together. Saw Star Wars 3 which was pretty good - my opinion is not as good as the original 3 (episodes 4 thru 6) but still good. Today we have friends coming out from Anchorage to see our son. Plus planning a BBQ for Wed evening (June 8). So any of you who know my son and want to come Wed please let me know! You are all welcome! He doesn't have that much longer here before he has to return to Iraq. Well, it is time to go check out a refrigerator that apparently died on us last night so will say goodbye for now. Am trying to do better about updating!
