Day at the races?
Well i got up at 7:30 this morning as my dad had planned for us to go to witton castle to watch the horse racing. We were also planning on delivering some luckybags on the way and afterwards as well. The first problem we had was that we couldnt fit all the luckybags in the car so we had to go in the van instead. The only thing is the van only has 3 seats and there are 4 of us going so someone had to sit in the back with the stock and coats and wellies. For some reason it was decided this would be me. So we went over to collingham to join the A58 onto the A1 and on the A58 the police had set up a roadblock and were stopping every car so my dad quickly tells me to hide under some coats. The police wanted to see some ID for the van and my dad which is all in the back so my dad had to open the back doors and theres me hidden under a pile of stuff hoping the cop doesnt see me! Fortunately he didnt and we got on our way again. Only to find out at 9:15 that the racing has been called off cos the ground has frozen and is too hard to race! So we did the deliveries anyway (all the way up to shields and back, getting stuck in traffic coming over the tyne bridge cos the moterway through newcastle was closed and 10 lanes had to filter into 1. So all in all a fairly annoying day but at least i wont have to do the deliveries on tuesday when i go back up:)
