when I re-listen to songs I wrote, I remember everything about the song, where I was when I wrote the music, and the lyrics, if they were separate, who the song was about, how long I had the song in my head, what people said about the song for months and sometimes years afterwards, when I played it for the first time for somebody, when I played it for Elisha or Fisher for the first time, when I performed it in front of lots of poeple for the first time, the little problems with it I noticed as I got older, the expression on Cory Thornton's face as he mixed it or recorded it, the other bands I had conversations with him about as we took a break while in the process of that, whether or not Elisha liked it.
I remember all kinds of things it's silly to remember.
