Series: The Dresden Files
Location: The lands of the Winter Court in the Realm of Fairy
Rarity: Unique
Description: The Leanansidhe, or Lea for short, is one of the highest ranking nobles in the court of Queen Mab, the ruler of the Unseelie Court of Winter. She's a very tall, slender, inhumanly beautiful woman with reddish hair curled down past her hips, complementing her flawless skin, high cheekbones, and lush, full, blood red lips. Her face is ageless, and her golden eyes have vertical slits instead of pupils, like a cat. Lea frequently makes deals with promising young artists, granting them phenomenal talent and inspiration in exchange for drastically reducing their lifeforce, literally feeding off their creative energies until there is nothing left. She has also been known to make deals with mortals, giving them increases in magical power in return for favors to be paid at a later date. One instance is the deal she made with Harry Dresden to give him the power he needed to survive his Foster Father's attempts on his life. While Lea is bound to follow the obligations of her deal to the letter and is incapable of lying, she is also a absolute master at twisting the words of the deal to suit her own ends. For example, she made a deal with Harry's mother to protect him, and promptly turned around and tried to turn him into one of her hell hounds, reasoning that he would be safer by her side than anywhere else.
Note, Lea is not evil, so much as she is flighty, prideful, capacious, conniving, and utterly unburdened by a conscience or morality. In her own twisted alien way she can care about people, but those who mistake this caring for anything human always suffer. She has tremendously powerful magic, able to transmute living beings, heal wounds as if they were never there, and create objects from literally nothing, but she is a fairy and thus bound by certain rules. She may not go against the will of Queen Mab directly, and the Queens commands are absolute, iron in all its forms burns her, and she must always oblige the letter of any promise she makes, lest she give the one whose deal she fails to honor power over herself.
Despite these weaknesses, however, she is an extremely formidable being, and not to be trifled with.
