When Catty was six years old, her adoptive mother, a Muggle named Kendra, found her wandering around the desert in Arizona with no memories of her life before then except for a crash and a flash of bright light. This led Kendra to believe that her new daughter--whom she named Catty--was an alien, and surely if Kendra had left the girl there, the government would have held her in Area 51 her whole life for experimentation. Kendra has spent most of Catty's life protecting her from "government officials". She grew up in Los Angeles with Kendra, believing that the "odd things" she could do were all part of her extra-terrestrial heritage. Even after receiving her Hogwarts letter and having been there for four years prior to the events that led Catty to the truth, she continued to hold on to a small part of the alien theory, though a huge part of her realized she was really a witch.
In truth, Catty's parents are both pure bloods. Her father, Adamantis, is a well-known Dark Wizard who has suddenly disappeared. Her real mother, Zoe, died last year during Catty's 5th year, but not before being found by Catty and telling her the truth. Zoe had been an Auror, seduced by Adamantis into becoming a Dark Witch. It took years for Zoe to come to her senses, and by that time, they had had a young daughter. Even though she was madly in love with the monster, she could no longer stand the thought of keeping her only child under his thumb to be used to fulfill his ambitions. She escaped with their daughter, wiping Catty's mind to keep her safe before leaving her wandering in the United States, in the hopes that she would escape her father's plans.
It was with great regret that Kendra finally had to accept that Catty was really a witch and not an alien (though regardless of what her daughter is, she's very happy that Catty got to meet her real mother), but at least she still has a secret to keep from the officials at Area 51.
Blood: (full, half, muggle-born) Full, but raised by a Muggle.
Preferred House: Gryffindor
Why you think they belong in this house?
Even though there are a few similarities in Catty that would help her fit well in Slytherin (she can be very manipulative, she's a pure blood, cunning, and pretty resourceful when the time calls for it), she is best suited for the Gryffindor house. While she isn't the most responsible, she is very brave. She often goes out of her way, even to the point of danger (in her canon story, she ends up fighting the ultimate evil by herself, sacrificing her life for the good of the world to destroy it. Now, if that isn't recklessly courageous, what is? Heh) to save the people she loves.
School Year: 6th
Quidditch Position:(if you wish to have them on their house's team) As mentioned, Catty isn't very responsible, but she does love going out and supporting her team!
Would you like the character to possibly get a higher position? (Prefects and Quidditch Captain for 5th years and up, Head Girl/Boy for 7th years) Catty is definitely not the kind of girl to have too much responsibility.

Journal Sample: (first person)
Another year, another great year.
Perhaps I should try to lie low and quit helping to spread the rumors about myself being an alien, now that I know the truth and everything.
Wait, wait. Me, lie low? Not happening. People will just have to get over it and accept me. Well... Maybe.
As another note, I think someone stole the bag of lemon drops I bought. If you would like to replace them, that would be nice.

Catty settled herself against a tree, the bark a little rough against her back, but she was as comfortable as she was going to be for the time being. She probably could have just hid herself away in a corner of the library, but then somebody probably would have come in and found her there. That would have led them to believe that she was actually studying. She placed her drawing pad on her lap, resting the sketching quill against the paper.
Her head leaned back against the tree, and she stared up at the sky, fluffy white clouds lazily drifting. Without thinking, her fingers found their way to the piece of jewelry around her neck. It was a small, silver amulet on a simple chain, the figure of the moon etched into its beautiful surface. She found comfort in it, as though she could feel it vibrating in pleasure against her fingers, but that was a silly thought.
Catty smiled to herself as she moved her head down to look at her near-complete picture again. She picked the quill back up, admiring the profile of the woman she had been drawing. It was the face that had been haunting her quite a bit lately, and she couldn't seem to get the woman's face out of her mind. Even with the light sketches and the side-view, she could see resemblances to her own face, though they were more slight than she would have wanted.
Nearby, she heard light, girlish giggles. She glanced at them from the corner of her eye. Third or fourth years, it seemed, probably checking her out after they heard some of the rumors about her. She looked at them head on, a wide cat-like grin on her face as she called out. "You better watch out! The voices of the elders from my planet said they are going to land right where you're standing in a few short minutes!"
The two girls gave her a startled, wide-eyed stare before dashing off, either afraid of an actual alien space craft or Catty's mischievous smile. Regardless, it made her giggle as she went back to sketching, the sounds of her quill lulling her into a peaceful meditation.
