Name: Kairi Sable
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Age: 15
Personality: Sweet, kind, and studiously loyal to her friends, Kairi is the kind of person you want to trust instinctively. And that trust would not be misplaced. For those most dear to her, she would do anything to keep them smiling, even if her actions eventually lead to her own unhappiness. (But, mostly, she's happiest when surrounded by her friends and everything is at peace with the world, so her wants and needs tend to coincide with keeping everyone cheerful.) She tends to be a fairly selfless person, concentrating on keeping the people around her happy, and sometimes forgets to think about herself. On the surface she might seem to be a simple girl with a good-natured demeanor, but underneath the skin is a very perceptive, clever girl who has a way of seeing right to the heart of things. It's very hard to keep a secret from her, and she often realizes things about the people closest to her before they themselves even do. She doesn't often show the deeply introspective side of her to other people, instead preferring to remain cheerful and upbeat even when times are bad. She refuses to feel sorry for herself, and never lets herself get drawn down into sadness or desperation. If things go bad, she picks herself up and moves on, preferring not to focus on the dark things in life.
She's very organized; good to put in charge of a group or a school project. Making lists and plans comes easy to her, as does directing other people without seeming overly bossy. If given a project, she can become very focused, putting her heart into getting it done and getting it done right. As a result, she tends to get good grades and doesn't mind group projects the way some students do. She's also artistic, and likes to work with her hands -- often she can be found doing small craft projects in the common room.
She is very strong in a quiet way-- unendingly patient, she can wait forever for something that is important to her. She is somewhat passively aggressive and has a way of fighting back without directly challenging whoever she's in a disagreement with. However, given the choice she would rather jump in and be active than passively waiting for events to occur, and if push comes to shove she is capable of fighting with an almost uncharicteristic fierceness. She finds her strength when protecting the ones she loves.
She never gives up on her goals and never loses faith in the people she cares about.

Kairi does not remember anything about her life before she was eight years old. Apparently, one day a little red haired girl simply appeared on the beach, standing still and staring out over the silent sea. The only things on her were the clothes on her back and a small, silver chain necklace bearing the word Kairi. Eventually, authorities were called to come
and pick her up, but when after awhile no one claimed her, and since she did not match any missing child descriptions, she was sent to live at an orphanage. She has no records of her life before that time, and even her name isn't truly hers, but rather one she obtained after being found.
She was never officially adopted by any family, though several potential adoptive parents came to see her. Even though she was kind, somehow, it never worked out and Kairi remained as a ward of the state throughout her adolecence. Strangely, she did not seem as troubled as many of the kids who went through social services, but she was a quiet girl and always regarded as a little strange by the other children. Things simply seemed to happen around her, often without explanation. Papers would fall when there was no wind, clocks would stop just before bedtime, and somehow there was always hot water for her shower even if she was the last one to use the bathroom. Even Kairi never fully understood how things seemed to always fall to her benefit, until one day she was visited by an owl carrying a sealed letter, and her life changed once again.
The thought of attending Hogwarts both excited and terrified her. She was presented with the knowledge that not only was magic real, but she had the talent to work it and-- surprise surprise-- other people did too and found the strange abilities perfectly normal. It was an opportunity not to be regarded as "that strange child," but rather join a community with new peers and possibly become accepted. She also gained the hope that maybe she might be able to find out more about the blank slate that was her past.
When she was younger, her lack of knowledge about her past and who she really was created a bit of a shell between her and the rest of the world. She was afraid she would be too shy to make many friends at Squarewarts, but her very first year she met two boys who grew very attached to her and brought her gently out of the walls she had built around herself.
For the first time, she could truly open up and be accepted for who she was, and she greatly enjoyed honing her magical skills. The boys grew to be her best friends, making sure she never spent too much time studying, and the three remained close throughout the years.
She's currently in her fifth year at Squarewarts, and has truly grown from the shy first year that first stepped into the great hall.

Why you think they belong in this house? While quiet, Kairi is fiercely dedicated to what's important to her. She can be very brave, facing down danger when the time requires, and absolutely selfless in aiding her friends. She is quietly stubborn with an edge that might surprise people, and her faith in her friends knows no bounds. She tends to always do the right thing even when the right thing is very hard to do, and she can be unerringly determined to achieve her goals.

Journal Sample: (first person)
[Information Shout-Out to Study Group]
Alright guys! We've got almost everything we need to finish our project. I'm putting all the samples together and trying to get a rough outline going for our presentation, so we should be good to go by our next group meeting! (Sora, I still need your part of the report and the ground mandrake root, please.)
Everything should be good to go, but if anyone has any last-minute ideas or contributions, just let me know!
I'm sure we're going to have the best project in the class!
Roleplay Sample: (third person)
Kairi leaned forward in her seat, breathless as she watched her friends soar over the Quidditch field. The game was tied, the snitch was still nowhere to be seen, and both teams seemed determined not to give the other any chances. Currently, Slytherin had the ball, but Gryffindor's defense was so tight they couldn't get anywhere near the goals.
"C'mon, guys..." She murmured, hands curled into fists against her sides, as if she could somehow help them from from sheer intent. She had no doubt that Gryffindor would get the ball back, but the suspense was wearing on her.
Suddenly, the Slytherin player broke through a tiny gap in the defense, shooting towards the goal end. The Gryffindor stands cried out in dismay, but Kairi just bit her lip, watching the boy stream closer to Sora, who guarded the goals with a determined look. The crowd murmured in apprehension, but Kairi had no doubt that he would catch the ball.
And he did.
The crowd went wild, and Kairi leapt to her feet with the other Griffindors around her, cheering until her voice grew hoarse.
He whooped and threw the ball back into the game, and Kairi smiled right along with them, pumping her fists into the air. She wanted to be out there with them, fighting for the team and winning the game.
She sank back into her seat slowly, body and eyes still intent on the game-- but part of her mind wandering elsewhere. For now, just supporting them was enough... but maybe, soon enough, she'd be out there on her broomstick, wowing the stands with her skills.
