[Sometime between Ganondorf and Axel? XD]bring_me_sakeFebruary 10 2009, 07:23:19 UTC
Rangiku lingered by the door for a moment before committing to walking into the room. "Hey stranger." She greeted the Gryffindor with a gentle smile, although as her eyes took in how battered he was looking they shone with regret. Still, she kept her tone cheery. "I thought you might be feeling thirsty," she continued, pulling up a chair and flopping herself into it before presenting the empty jug in her hand. She set it on the table and tapped it, watching as it filled with chocolate milk.

(OoC: OMG CHOCOLATE MILK!!!!)
Link let the chocolate milk sit on the bedside table next to the Dreamless Draught that he still hadn't touched. It wasn't that he was taking Ren's word about not trusting the healer, but he had a lot of thoughts to sort out in his head before he even thought of sleeping.
He shrugged at the charms professor's question. "I've been better." Once again, Link didn't try to keep any negative emotions out of his voice. It was too much effort for the moment.
The Charms Professor watched him for a moment, eyes serious even as she tried to conjure up another smile for him. "I bet," she replied softly. Her voice was quiet and understanding. There was so much weight in his words -- the last thing he needed was probably someone to be depressing, but she could at least try to understand. Understand, and cheer him up.
"You know, I hope you're not expecting me to go easy on you when you come back to class," Rangiku finally continued. Tone more upbeat, she carried on. "You can't blame a girl for being jealous you get to spend so much time in bed, after all."
Link tried to smile at the professor's comment, but failed. He really was grateful that Professor Rangiku came to see him, but he was too preoccupied with other thoughts that kept him so low. "I hope I'll be able to come back. Do you know what the headmaster wants to do yet? Have you talked to Professor Ashelia?"
"You will definitely be able to come back, Link," Rangiku promised. She didn't care what she might have to do, but she would make sure that he stayed at Hogwarts no matter what. "I haven't spoken much to either of them yet, but I promise I'll get this sorted out. You can't escape Hogwarts until you get your NEWTs."
Her tone might have been casual, but the intent behind her words was deadly serious. Rangiku was a woman of her word, and she never let down the people she cared about. "Got it?"
Link looked up and stared at his charms professor. He had never really heard her sound so serious. It felt nice to have someone care for you enough to do something like that for you, but then again, Link didn't think he deserved it. He gave his professor a smile anyway. "Thanks professor."
Rangiku did her best to give him a bright smile. Looking sad right now was just-- she couldn't do it to him. "Anytime Link. Keep that smile up, ne?" She glanced over at the chocolate milk. "If you do you best and try to get through as much of that milk as you can, I'll take care of all the other stuff."
"How are you?"
