Callo ran a finger along her right braid and gave a slight sigh as she seated herself behind her desk. She liked to prowl while she taught or gave exams, only sitting as a sign that class was over.
"Please leave your quizzes on the edge of my desk. Your homework is on the board. Just a reminder for those of you who need it, the homework is for your benefit."
She looked up at the afternoon sunlight as it slanted in through the window. It turned the room hazy, faintly golden. She almost wouldn't have blamed a student for falling asleep. Well, all right, she would have, but she could understand why.
God knew she wanted to fall asleep.
"Class dismissed. See you the day after tomorrow."
And with that, she massaged her temple and set to grading the quizzes all ready on her desk.
