Mulan withdrew her wand and cast a tempus spell to check the time as she swiftly, yet carefully ran through the halls. Her last appointment with the Tutoring Club had run rather long, not that she minded, but she didn't want to be late in helping Bart if he needed it. He probably didn't need her help, he knew more about microwaves then she and Griffith did combined. All Mulan knew was that microwaves were a machine of some kind that heated food without the use of a fire spell, like a miniature oven - as she had pictured - or something similar. She had no idea how they did it and was curious to learn.

Stopping in front of the portrait that guarded the kitchens, she gently tickled the pear and entered to a surprising scene. Or at least surprising to her. It appeared as if the moogles, moombas and Bart were all getting along rather well. Alone. By themselves. With no one else in the room.

"Hello?"

Though the last of the trio to arrive, Griffith wasn't far behind, turning the corner while Mulan entered the kitchens. Slipping in past the portrait a few moments after and joining his friends, he smiled faintly in greeting. "It's been awhile since I've been here," he stated with a hint of amusement, watching a couple moogles dart around busily. Catching a moogle worriedly looking in their direction with obvious concern, Griffith smiled at the small creature. "Don't worry, we'll clean up after ourselves," he reassured gently, despite not knowing what they were even up to.

"So where is it?" he finally asked as he remembered the reason they were gathered in the kitchen for the first place, searching around curiously for an object that looked like it would be called a microwave. Not certain what he was even looking for, he assumed it would be something small if micro was an accurate description.

For once, he was the first to arrive! Bart cheerfully turned and waved at his best friends. He tucked his wand behind his ear - probably not the safest place for it, but it'd do - and gestured towards the light (but rather large) microwave on the counter.

"Hi guys!" Almost tripping on empty air, he zoomed to where they were and swung his arms across their shoulders. "It's over there," He said, tilting his head in the microwave's direction.

"This, y'all, is just about the coolest thing that you'll ever see. It's a microwave and it heats up food. By itself."

"Hey Griffith, Bart," Mulan smiled, coming to the realization that she didn't just enter into what would be a standoff of some sort between her friends and the creatures of the kitchen. The last time had been a misunderstanding of great proportions, and she wasn't keen on it repeating itself - even if the make up had been delicious and amusing.

As Bart came over and introduced the machine they had all gathered to view, she couldn't help but give a not-so-articulate answer in reply. At least it covered all of her questions. In a vague, umbrella sort of sense.

"How?" she asked, curiosity brimming. The microwave was box-like, like the small oven she had pictured but that's where the similarities ended and her excitement continued off in amazement. It had a door that appeared to open to the side, not flip down and the space inside seemed as if it would be rather small. Mulan didn't understand how it could work and heat enough food to feed people!

"It's..." Griffith began before trailing off into confused silence, a bit baffled over the hype for such an ordinary looking object. He was expecting it to look at least a bit more exciting. Eyebrows raised as he stared at the muggle device with all the strange numbers and symbols down the front, he was remarkably less impressed after Bart's bold claim about it being the coolest thing he'd ever see. If it was anybody but Bart, Griffith would suspect he was being hoaxed. "It's a box," he finally stated as he scratched the back of his head, tone that of a child that just opened a long awaited gift that turned out to be socks. Or perhaps more appropriately, an empty box.

Leaning forward to investigate the control panel buttons and stare through the window in the door, Griffith hmmmmed in consideration. Maybe there was some sort of trick he was overlooking. "So... they light a fire in there?" he asked doubtfully, uncertain where they'd put the food without burning it ( ... )

The tables had turned. For once, Bart was left speechless as he watched his friends inspect the microwave. Preston and Carol, no doubt, would be in hysterics if they knew this was why Bart'd smuggled a microwave to Hogwarts this semester... all to introduce wizards to it. He nervously rubbed the back of his neck, "Science ( ... )

Science... was not an adequate answer, but Mulan left him to it. Bart had a different way of explaining things and he'd give a better response sooner or later. Instead, she took to inspecting the muggle machine with Griffith and poking about the buttons. Beeps of different kinds sounded off as she played about, trying to figure out what each one did - though it wasn't hard as at least half of them were labeled. However, when her Slytherin friend hit a certain one that caused the microwave to attack him she startled and leaned a bit away, casting a slightly worried glance at him as to if he was alright ( ... )
