AJ was heading back from the gym when he spotted Ren in the dorm. His face lit up at seeing him. AJ was beginning to get a little lonely in the dorm all by his lonesome. He grinned as he walked over. It'd been a few years, but he still mustered up a friendly greeting. "Hey, Honjo. How's it going?" he asked as he set his duffel on the ground next to him.

Taking a glance over at the entrance while he took another drag of his cigarette, Ren gave a small wave to the guy who walked in. There was something vaguely familiar about this guy but Ren wasn't entirely sure what it was. Considering he was leaving his stuff in this room, chances are an old roommate that Ren couldn't remember off the top of his head.

Him being recognized was a bit easier because Ren didn't look much different from when he was 12 other than being older and taller.

"You've changed since I saw you last," Ren said casually.

AJ also had the convenience of having roomed with him before. There were days he swore Hogwarts had a revolving door. People came and went rather frequently. Of course, AJ excepted most of his classmates to still be there. It probably didn't help Ren any that AJ had changed quite a bit in his time away.

"Well, it has been two years. Guess I grew up a little."

He made his way to a chair and flopped down in it. "Got any spares?" he asked.

It seemed to be the case. There were people that showed up and left without any word of coming back most times. Kind of a shame really but, was a good way to meet new people when someone else shows up to take their place.

"You have," Ren muttered with the cigarette held between his lips with a small smirk, "Enough that I can't even make an attempt to guess who the hell you are."

Ren frowned a bit at the question, raising an eyebrow, "Of which? The beer or the smokes?" Sure he had more of both and chances were, the likely option would be the beer but, Ren still felt the question vague enough to ask.

The curtain on Squall's bed drew back at the sound of the lighter snapping, and he peered out almost curiously, one of his text books half hanging off his lap. He blinked at Ren, as if surprised to see him.

"...hey."

Flicking his lighter to ignite another cigarette, Ren glanced over to the voice and gave a small wave in return as he took the first drag, "Hey." He knew better than to offer Squall any and simply glanced at the textbook and the fact that he was just sitting in his bed until now.

"Have you been hiding in there this entire time?"

"No, I was in the forest training too," Squall replied simply, turning back to his book, but leaving the curtain open. Silence hung for a long moment, before he spoke again.

"...how was vacation?"

"Sounds exciting," Ren said dryly, taking a sip of his beer. Everyone and their damn training.

He thought for a minute that was the end of the conversation but, Squall did the rare act of asking another question. "Okay," Ren gave a small shrug, "It's different, spending Christmas where it's warm. Not sure I like it." But he might just be saying that because of the sunburn he received from it.
