WHO: EVERYONE WHO LEFT FOR THE GARDEN! LOCATION: THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS // THE GARDEN WEEK: 65 TIME: FRIDAY - Monday? WHAT: EVENT ALTERNATIVE RATING: Nothing too bad?
Nanami silently watched Tomoyo until the younger girl pulled out the notebook. She wasn't close enough to get a good look at the drawings, but Nanami did get enough of a glimpse of it to be curious. For a while afterward she continued to stare at the other girl without saying anything, deep within an inner conflict.
On one hand, Nanami wanted to turn around and leave. Find herself some stationary and write a letter to her brother, than one to her parents about the horrible ordeal she's been through. But on the other hand, she also wanted to close the space between herself and Tomoyo and try to take the notebook away so that she could snoop through it. It was a sudden urge that she had when ever she wanted to avoid things and feelings she didn't want to deal with.
Right now there was a small sliver of her person that felt guilty thinking of the younger kids like Tomoyo that she duped into staying at the castle so she could escape in their place. She also randomly wanted to know what Tomoyo was so interested in that kept her from paying more attention to Nanami, who was her pretty, smart and fabulous older classmate.
Without any provocation besides her own selfishness, she moved over to reach out and try to snatch the notebook out of Tomoyo's hand. "What is this you have? Let me see." Nothing in her tone or actions made her words seem like anything like she was asking for permission.
Tracing an outline for what would be with many hours of work later a complete design of something that Tomoyo had in her head for a good while now and just wanted to get it on to paper as soon as, so she wouldn't lose it again anytime soon.
She soon glanced up, noticing the person was still there, she had thought they would had left the moment she started to draw, so she started to wonder maybe she should be herself and just talking more and try and at least make new friends that went to the same school.
Tomoyo was slightly surprised by the sudden grabbing of her notebook that the girl did, but thankfully he had finished her basic outlines before she did, so nothing was messed up for the time being. In side the notebook was lots and lots of different drawings for outfits or more specifically costumes that seemed to be for someone Tomoyo's age nd with very detailed notes as to what fabric and such she would use to be able to make it.
"There just designs I do from time to time since I don't have my camera with me at all this is the next best thing to do in terms of, well doing something other than talking, so sorry if I offended you, I just wanted to quickly get an idea that has appeared in my head on paper before I forget."
Once the notebook was in her possession, Nanami held it up and turned it so that she could easily flip through the pages so she could scan it quickly for anything interesting. After several flashes of the designs and Tomoyo's explanation, the flipping pages stopped and the older girl examined the sketch that she had randomly landed on.
At first she stared with a criticizing stare, an eyebrow hiked up and a corner of her mouth pulled back into a grimace. She turned the pages to glance through a couple more designs, and then as quickly as an idea came to her, Nanami's expression changed so that she looked impressed. "They are absolutely darling!" She didn't look to the other girl as she spoke and continued skimming through the drawings, taking in most details and reading over the notes. "You are so talented. I would have never guessed that you were a fashion designer! Do you make these, too? Or do you just draw them?"
She just watched and waited for the girl to either talk or give her back her notebook because she was in a middle of a costume design for if Sakura even did come to the school, it would be like a welcome present from her. She kept her hands on her lap as she stirred at the girl since she didn't have much else to do.
When she finally answered, as smiled and answered easily, "Yes, I make what I draw, it's a personal hobby of mine to design and make costumes for my friend and then film her in them, it's always a wonderful sight." Tomoyo had gone into her own little world for now thinking off her friend and the many costumes she had gotten Sakura in and filmed as well, it made her happy to the point remembering still made her giddy.
Ooo. Someone's own personal designer. Even if she was a nobody, the fact that she was providing someone with unique things to wear could be useful to Nanami. "Who is it that acts as your model?"
"Sakura Kinomoto is my model and inspiration for most of my designs, she looks so wonderful in them it makes me heart as happy as anything." Tomoyo did miss her friend not being here, but she understood that Sakura couldn't be here with her right now, but she kept hoping that one day she will come to Hogwarts and they can continue like they use to where she would dress her up and get that nice warm feeling she would always get when she filmed her.
Nanami didn't recognize the name, but she didn't need to know who a girl was to assume that she was prettier and better and therefore should be more inspirational than her! "Ah. I see."
She raised her eyes from the notebook and smiled sweetly at Tomoyo. "The two of you must be dear friends." She paused a moment before she looked around. "Where is she? Shouldn't she be here with you admiring your hard work?"
"She's my best friend of all time, my closest, closest friend in this world and the next." She had gone off into space again, she couldn't help, but admire her for most of the time it happened. When being asked where her friend was and why she wasn't here, she stopped day dreaming in her little fantasy world and looked down, hands moving back to her lap.
"She's not here, she doesn't even go to this school, she's all the way in Japan."
"That is really too bad. So far away from your friend and muse." Her smile was replaced by an expression that was somewhere between concerned and pity. "It must be very hard on you having nobody here for you. So... so lonely. I don't think that I'd be able to bear it."
Nanami moved to sit near Tomoyo, notebook still in hand and she glanced over drawings as she continued to speak. "You're very talented. It's so disappointing that nobody in Hogwarts will be able to see any of your creations in all their glory up close..."
"I know it's sad, but we promised that during holidays and times we both have off we'll see each other, so it's not like I'll be away from her forever." She said that as she looked up with a smile, remembering the promise they had made, remembering the plans they were going to make during the holidays.
"Thank you for saying I have talent, but my roommate has seen some of my work since I leave fabric lying about."
