Aerith had her journal opened beside her so that she could keep an eye on the entries as they were posted. However, her mind was certainly not encapsulated by that task. She had other things to concentrate on - like coercing the wayward plants to follow her commands.

Slipping her wand into a hidden slot in her staff, she raised it above her head and murmured a low litany of spells under her breath. The sort of magic she was utilizing could only be dubbed "White Magic" because it was derived fully from the elements around her.

As the spells finally started taking effect, the Greenhouses began to glow faintly, acting as beacons for anyone nearby. If any Inferi came this way, she had a nasty surprise in store for them.

"I'm fine!" Aerith's cheerful voice cut through the unsettling sounds the Inferi were making as if they didn't exist at all. Then again, she had a reason for feeling quite cheerful. The plants in the Greenhouses had been transformed into small - and, some, not so small - soldiers. They were marching against the Inferi courageously (if you could call a plant courageous), pulling them apart limb from limb or finding various ways to set them on fire.

"Are you okay?" she waved her staff, sending another drove of plants to give Dionysus a clear path to the Greenhouses if he chose to land.

"Of course!" Aerith blocked the path to the Greenhouses, allowing Dionysus time to gather what he needed, "They are for everyone to use." she glanced back at him, "Good. Be careful?"

She was worried about everyone. This could be a very tragic night if anyone let their guard down. But they wouldn't. Everyone would get through this. Aerith tried to assure herself of that, but she couldn't stop herself from thinking about the little First and Second Years.

"Is everyone in their dormitories?" her voice wavered and she clutched her staff tightly.

"It does." she nodded, giving him a brief smile, "Everything will be okay."

The reassurance behind her words probably didn't translate, but she was trying to remain upbeat.

"Good thing Inferi can't fly, huh?" Aerith knocked an Inferi backwards with the butt of her staff, casting a fire spell quickly after it staggered from the blow.

"It will be." Aerith reasserted, grazing her fingertips down her staff as she searched for any nicks or cracks, "Thank you!" she tilted her head back to watch him, "Take care of your Housemates."

Unfortunately, she couldn't say anymore. At that moment, an Inferi decided to wrap its arms around her neck. Choking slightly, she rammed her staff into its stomach and ducked out of its hold. A moment later, the corpse was just a pile of smoking ashes.

He knew something bad was going to happen but Kadaj never imagined it would be as fun as this. To him, it was a field day. He would have felt no remorse hurting his own fellow students, but that could get in the way of his career. No one could blame him too much though for fighting the Inferi. So he sought them out on his way to the Greenhouse.

Some bruising and deep cuts later, Kadaj spotted the beacon, and broke into a run. "Are they here yet?" His eyes wide with delight he was probably a little too eager.

Flinching as soon as she heard his voice, Aerith turned and quickly made her way to his side. Gazing at him intently, she tried to pass on her displeasure somehow. Apparently words weren't going to be enough and he was going to hurt himself if he stayed out here!

"Kadaj, go back inside!" she sent a flame at one of the approaching Inferi, narrowing her green eyes stubbornly, "See? I'm fine!"

Kadaj perceived her displeasure, only to grin more widely and retort, "Never!" He turned back to look at the Inferi with a sort of zealousness that threatened to take over him. He giggled and began to approach them slowly, lifting up his wand and casting another fire spell at another. "I can do that too! Isn't this fun Professor?"

"This isn't a game!" Aerith flung herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist, "Stop it! Go back inside!" her voice wavered unsteadily, "I can't let anything happen to you!"

If she could somehow get in front of him, maybe...

"No, you're right, it's not a--" Kadaj hissed and tensed up, aiming his wand for whatever came. That was one way to shield a person. He ignored her words. So long as he could fight, he didn't care about what she did.

Unfortunately for him, Aerith was born stubborn. That was probably one of the reasons she had lived for as long as she had. Then again, that might well be the thing that killed her one day.

"Kadaj, stop!" she darted around him and blocked him. Even though there were Inferis behind her, she knew this was more important. Spreading out her arms, she tried to make herself a bigger obstacle.

"No more." she whispered, frowning, "Please?"

Had it been a different situation, Kadaj may have admired her stubborn nature. As it was, he narrowed his eyes in frustration and tried to look intimidating. "No. Move!" He then reached out in an attempt to push her down and away from the threat. He really didn't have the time to be patient.
