Dita always started her day with a big, bright smile. She woke up and greeted the sunshine before getting ready for the day. She itched at her arm absently. It wasn't that it itched; there just seemed to be something pulling at her. It was rather odd. She shrugged it off. She had more important things to worry about! Today she was going to the library to check out a couple of books on aliens! Maybe that would answer her questions.

She hummed to herself as she made her way to the library, her robes flowing behind her. Who knew this place would have a library with books about aliens! If only Mejere had those books. She wouldn't have so many questions. The pulling sensation increased as she neared the library, but she brushed it off as excitement about her books.

Dita didn't know where the books were hiding, so she figured she'd just walk around until she found them. Or the librarian. She didn't know where they were either. She was so intent at staring at all the books, that she didn't notice when she bumped into another student. "Oh, sorry!" she apologized.

Okay, now it was getting really strange; the sensation didn't stop, it just kept getting stronger and stronger. It was almost painful by the time she had decided that the infirmary was the best option...

And then it completely disappeared. She did not, however, get the chance to think on it as a weight clipped her side and she stumbled a step back at the impact.

A blink, a cocked eyebrow, and then her face spread into that warm, happy grin she was all-too-well-known for. "That's alright, I wasn't paying any attention, either."

She bowed her head a bit as a farewell and moved to take her leave... when her skin tingled, then prickled, and then...

She recoiled back a couple steps, the feeling dissipating, and stood, confused, staring at her own body as though it had somehow betrayed her... then looked at the girl she had just bumped into... did she feel that too or was Sei just getting sick... in a very strange way?

Dita had waved at the other girl, on a mission to get her book. As soon as she had taken a few steps away, her skin crawled with pins and needles. She didn't have time to do anything more than make a gasp of discomfort when it all went away. She glanced over at the other girl and realized they both looked confused. "Did you just..." she wasn't quite sure how to finish. It was rather hard to explain, after all.

Ah, so she had felt it. "Yes..." Sei nodded, then looked about as though there might have been some sort of external cause for it.

Nothing she could see or feel in the area. Maybe she would just-

And as soon as she took another couple steps the tingling sensation began, and she stopped, stepping back. "Well then. I wonder, does the school just want us to stay in the library? ... This section, specifically?" Ah, the mind of a Ravenclaw, already beginning to try to formulate a solution.

Dita scrunched her face together as she pondered that. It could might be. What else could explain it? "You're so smart..." she realized she didn't know the other girls name. "Uh, what was your name? I'm Dita." She smiled up at the other girl.

Well. Guess it wouldn't hurt to get to know her new library-space companion. "Sei," She stated, leaning against the bookcase, crossing her arms, and letting that grin of her settle in a bit. "Sei Satou. Sixth year Ravenclaw. And yourself?"

"Oh, duh," she started, knocking on her head to illustrate its wonderful, hollow sound, "I'm Dita Liebely. I just transferred here! I'm a sixth year Hufflepuff!"

She smiled widely at Sei, pleased to be making a new acquaintance. "Have you always gone to Hogwarts?"

"It's alright," Sei said, chuckling in a sort of amusedly affectionate way. "Not everyone introduces their houses; I just happen to like to know." And knowing is half the battle. Or, rather, one more thing she could put in her carefully kept mental filing cabinet on people she met.

"And no, I've only been here..." She thought about it for a moment, tapping at her chin with her finger. "Mnn, maybe two or three months? I don't remember, it's so busy around here for me."

"That isn't that long at all! Have you met any aliens, yet?" Dita inquired.

She sank to the floor, certain they were trapped her until who knew when! She might as well be comfortable. She patted the ground next to her and invited Sei to join her.

"... Aliens?" Sei blinked, settling down near Dita, a short, respectful distance away. She wasn't sure if this was the time or place for her usual over-friendly antics; the whole setup was just a little too weird.

"I... I don't think I've met anyone not from this planet, though I guess with the mentality of some of the people here, their Earthling status might be questionable," she winked, settling back against the books. Well, she could think of worse ways to spend a morning.

Dita's face fell a bit. Hardly anyone here knew of aliens! Either the aliens were really good at hiding, or people didn't know what aliens were! She was certain she had seen a few in the hallways, and there were a few professors that seemed to be aliens. She wasn't quite certain. There was too much to take in!

At Sei's second comment, Dita's hopes rose again. Perhaps there really were aliens! She was determined to find them. She grabbed her backpack to make a note of who Sei was when she remembered she still had a few leftover cookies. Not one to waste, she pulled them out and offered one to Sei. "Would you like one?"

Sei raised an eyebrow at Dita; did the other girl honestly believe her? Of course, before she had the time to fully contemplate what exactly might've been going through the other girls' mind... there was a cookie being proffered.

"Ah..." Well, it would likely be rude to refuse. "Alright, seeing as I'm not sure if we'll be able to make lunch." Her grin returned, full-force, thankful, and she nodded her head as she took it.

She chewed on it, thoughtfully, as she quickly tried to ponder another topic of discussion - silences were going to be long and awkward if she didn't. "So, why the interest in aliens?"

Sob, Dita. Her and her aliens. iluvaliens August 16 2010, 06:45:16 UTC
Dita took a cookie for herself, especially at the mention of missing lunch. She had shoved half the snack in her mouth just as Sei asked the question. She smiled wide, as she swallowed the cookie down. "My mother always told me stories of aliens! Some of the other girls liked stories about princesses, but my favorite ones were always of aliens! The ones that fly around in their spaceships are my favorite."

She grinned, always eager to share her love of aliens with others. Some of her peers at Beabaxtons got tired of listening to her tales. Even the other girls in Mejere didn't want to listen to her. "Do you have a favorite alien?"

"Your mother sounds like a very wonderful one indeed," She laughed. "I didn't much care for princesses and castles, either. My parents didn't often tell me stories though." Well, her parents didn't talk to her much, either. Sei had been such an angry child, after all...

But alas, such thoughts were not welcome in the presence of such happiness.

"I'm not sure I know enough about aliens to have a favorite one," Sei replied, carefully. "Science fiction was never a strong suit of mine."

Dita had a far off look as she remembered her childhood fondly. "Maybe if we're here long enough I'll have to tell you some stories," she giggled.

She took another bite of her cookie and pondered their situation. "What do you think is keeping us here? Do you think we're supposed to find a special book or something?"

"Well, if the castle wants to keep us in the library, no telling how long we could be stuck here," Sei stated with a bit of a shrug, finishing off the last bits of her cookie.

"That may be it. It may also just be a random influx of magical energy that we need to outwait. Either way, I'm hoping it doesn't last long." She leaned her head back against the books, staring up at the shelves across from her, then looked about. "I wonder if anyone else has gotten it. Usually when things like this happen it effects the whole school... or at least from what I've seen."
