He's purring while studying? EEEEESOCUTE! And the tail! *dies of cute*

Al spent a lot of time in the library. It was understandable, considering his course load and that he had some... well, energetic roommates. He needed a break, though, the words of his Potions text were starting to blur together. Al stood up and stretched. This was mostly for show, but it WAS good to get out of that chair. He decided he'd walk around for a few minutes.

Surprisingly, it wasn't the tail that caught his attention- it was the purring. He blinked at the familiar sound and looked around, half expecting to see that his cat had somehow followed him into the library... but he saw Ritsuka, and the tail and the ears. Oh boy.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly. Purring wasn't usually a bad thing, but in this case, he wasn't totally sure.

He really like to study XDD

When the silence was broken he little study trance was broken and he could feel the slight tickle in his throat telling him he'd been purring... 'Oh for the love o-' Pinks a bit and clears his throat before answering.

"S-sorry, was I disturbing you?" He replies after a short pause to compose himself, keeping his back to Al and eyes fixed on that book as if it could somehow shield him from embarrassment. "A-ah, yes, I'm okay. Why do you ask?" He finally glances over his shoulder at him.

"No, not at all. I'm just... not used to hearing such a thing in the library," Al said quickly. "I was taking taking a break, that's all. Sorry for bothering you."

He looked away, reminding himself that Ritsuka was a boy, not a cat, and he couldn't pet him no matter how cute the ears and tail and purring were.

"Yeah, I just... can't help it sometimes." His tail curls around himself in slight shame at not being able to control the feline half. Like how earlier he wanted to bat at that paper ball, oh the humiliation. "And you're not bothering me either, I was just killing a little time while I wait for my friend."

"It's not a bad thing, don't worry about it too much," he smiled. Well, except that it attracted possibly unwanted attention, but nevermind. "If you can't help it, you can't help it."

He paused. "You sure your friend will find you with all these books?"

Oh and how it did, but Al seemed less annoying than most children Ritsuka knew around here. Perhaps it was because he was older? 6th year? 7th year? He was pretty tall...

"Huh? Well sure it's not th-" Looks around at the mini walls of books around him. "...Nn...I guess I read more than I thought..." A sheepish grin before he stands up and places the book about daemons he was currently reading aside to put some of the others in their proper place.

Al laughed lightly. "I'm the same way. I'm studying and then before I know it, there's all these books."

He picked up a few to help Ritsuka put them away. He was here enough, he knew where things went.

"T-thanks, but you don't need to." Smiles politely. "I really didn't mean to interrupt you, ..." He paused a moment trying to remember how to address someone in English that was older yet not an adult. He'd been back home in Japan a little too long. 'Too young to call Mr. Elric...'

"Alphonse...?" It sounded like a question even though he didn't mean for it to.

I'm SO sorry it took so long to get back to this, total fail. ;_;

"Nah, it's okay, don't worry about it," Al shrugged, smiling. He didn't mind. "I was taking a break anyway."

Being called by his whole first name surprised him, and he looked over at Ritsuka. "Yeah?" he asked. It HAD sounded like a question, after all, so he thought Ritsuka wanted something.
