WHAT: Harry's found himself a girl, and is now experiencing one of the less enjoyable moments in a girl's life
RATING: PG-13 for subjects that might make people uncomfortable
This was stupid, so utterly stupid. In his life Harry had endured so many different kinds of pain. He'd been beaten by other kids, been exposed to cold, hunger, and the elements, had baseballs thrown at him to train him to make shields, been burned and assaulted by supernatural and magical killers, broken multiple bones, and generally suffered more injuries than men twice or three times his age. There was no logical reason this pain should be in any way worse, and in a practical sense it really wasn't.
In a less practical but far more relevant sense, however, it was much worse. Harry felt like he was trapped in skin that wasn't his own, everything felt wrong, moved wrong. His proportions were off, he had trouble catching his balance, it was like he had to relearn everything about his body all over again, and now on top of that there was a horrible painful ache inside him that just would not stop, coupled with a feeling of sticky blood between his legs making him feel humiliated, exposed, disgusting, and very very scared.
The great Harry Dresden, trained to fight since he was ten and slayer of Justin DeMourn, and here he was reduced to curling up under a pile of blankets and whimpering by something that his female friends could all handle on a monthly basis. The embarrassment and shame just made him feel worse.
Curling up tighter, Harry tried not to whimper.
