Ah but the fox certainly seemed to be enjoying the attention as it leaned into the touches with great vigor and enthusiasm, tail wagging, just a bit, like a dog.

Sei flinched against the sensation, that weird tingling sensation that started around her upper spine and spread through every limb. So it must have happened whenever anyone touched the little creature. Then there was a closer connection between the two of them than even Sei thought.

And then Minako picked it up and just as it had every time before, Sei felt herself tense a little at the unfamiliar sensation.

"Hey! Hey human! She smells really good!" the fox called, just before Minako did... and buried its muzzle against her neck, sniffing probably a little too friendly. The otter was ignored. "Mmm, I bet she tastes good, too~ covered in a little chocolate-"

"Ah, yes. Sorry about that. She's... a little too friendly I think," Sei said, and to her credit didn't sound nearly as strange as she felt, likely aided by the short burst of annoyment at the fox as she interrupted it. She approached, and gently reached to take the fox from Minako's grasp. "She really just likes the attention I think."

The fox seemed rather reluctant, leaning away from Sei and closer into Minako. "But human! Look at her! Those thighs! You could get lost in those thighs!"

Minako giggled as the fox nuzzled her neck. She was gratefully unaware of what the fox was saying at the moment, as was her own little animal. That did not, however, stop the otter from narrowing his eyes at the fox.

"I don't like her. "She should be staying with her human. You don't see me running off."

"Hush, Kama," Minako whispered, and gently bopped the otter on the head after she'd handed the fox back to Sei. True, the other creatures had been decidedly less...affectionate, but perhaps it differed based on the person. It seemed like a reasonable enough conclusion, she thought. "She's really sweet!" Minako said to Sei, all smiles. "Kama-kun," she motioned to the otter, "is sort of grumpy. Does yours have a name?"

The fox glowered at Sei as the daemon was finally handed back to her human, despite her protests. Sei ignored her, and kept a relatively tight grip, cradling the animal against her chest.

"I'm not sure 'sweet' is the best way to describe her," Sei replied ambiguously, her tone obviously reluctant to divulge any further information. She did, however, manage to return the smile with a placid one of her own. "But yes, she does have a name - it's Itanya. However, the day she actually behaves is the day I call her by that name."

The fox, back with her human, seemed rather complacent, though, and rolled onto her back, looking at the otter in such a way that if she were human, might be called self-satisfied.

"Mnn, whatever you say human," Itanya said, eyeing Minako up and down again. "I can see you trying not to stare. Go ahead and look, with a body like that she's practically begging for it. Among other things..."

Sei grabbed the fox's muzzle, using one hand to keep it shut. "She's also quite talkative, which I seem to understand no one but their owners can understand these little creatures. Quite the relief let me tell you."

Minako giggled, and clasped her hands in front of her, ignoring the grumbles of her own daemon. "It's a pretty name. Is she that mischievous?" She blinked, and tilted her head to the side, tucking a few loose strands of hair behind her ear. "Kama complains a lot, but he hasn't gotten into any trouble yet!"

Kama's ears flattened on his head -- he was not appreciating the look that the fox was giving his human. "I won't get into trouble," he insisted, "but I still don't like her!"

Minako patted him on the head to placate him, and nodded at Sei. "That's what I've noticed. It's a little weird, but everything about these things are weird." She grinned sheepishly. "Oh, you're a Ravenclaw, right? I don't think we've met before. I'm Minako Aino, sixth year Gryffindor!"

no prob, bro sei_what June 26 2010, 19:40:44 UTC
"Yes she is that mischievous, but I suppose I can't expect anything else from a fox," and her annoyance was hid behind a well-timed grin.

"Hey! Just because you have my muzzle doesn't mean I can't talk to you you know!" the fox squirmed a little in Sei's arms in protest of being held so tight.

Again, however, Itanya was ignored.

"I am a Ravenclaw, yes. Sixth year, my name's Sei. Sei Satou," And her grin shifted a little bit, toward the curious. "Something tells me I've heard your name before..." Pause, thoughtful, then, "Ah. Well it is nice to meet you in any case, Minako." And because it was formality, Sei dipped her upper body down into a nice, polite, formal Japanese bow.

Or rather, as much of one as she could manage with a fox in her arms.

"Right! Kitsune are tricksters, after all. But she's still really cute." She smiled at the fox, and Kama snorted in annoyance.

"Just watch where she's touching you," he grumbled. "It's not proper--" He made a noise when Minako bopped him on the head gently with her fist.

"It's very nice to meet you, Sei-san," Minako bowed as well: she might've been a bit ditzy at times, but she still remembered her manners. "You may have heard of me," she said after straightening up from the bow. "I don't know if you watch Muggle television, but I have my own show. Eh, unless...you've heard my name around school." That was entirely possible: she was popular after all.

And prone to getting into trouble with professors, but there was no way she was saying that.

"Ahaha, see that, human?" Itanya laughed, running her tongue over her muzzle like she had caught a whiff of something particularly delicious. "She wouldn't be all that hard to just... pin down and..."

Sei didn't even favor the fox with a glance, instead cocking a sort of half-grin. "Ah, yes. My father watched your show occasionally. I'm not sure if he still does." A laugh. "Sorry, I didn't. I... preferred to spend more of my time reading." She tugged on her robe. "Guess I was a born natural Ravenclaw."
