High Street and therefore Around - Opensei_whatJune 15 2010, 07:58:52 UTC
Ah, this was technically the first time Sei had managed to pry herself away from her books, her dorm, and her homework to visit Hogsmeade, and as such was the first time she really got to look at all the town had to offer.
Oh, it was a nice place, and the weather was good. The shops were plentiful, and there was definitely a nice atmosphere to the place. She'd already been window-shopping at most of the stores, and spotted a nice quill set at the quill shop that she was going to go back to later once she'd made up her mind about buying it.
Though, perhaps, she thought, she would have preferred to make this particular trip alone.
"No you wouldn't have," her daemon stated, simply, padding along beside her on the broad sidewalk, ducking behind Sei's feet when it appeared as though something was going to step on her.
And here she thought the vixen would be quiet for the rest of the trip. Oh well. The debate was on again.
[ooc: anyone who comes across her will either find her in the midst of some sort of a discussion with her ladyfox companion, or simply holding the beast and petting it to keep it quiet.]

Some ways away from Sei, a little further down the road, a blonde girl was bickering with an otter.
Minako herself was a frequent visitor of Hogsmeade, but it so happened that she was not shopping this time -- merely trying to escape the strange weasel-thing that could apparently read her thoughts.
"It's an otter," the animal responded primly in a high, adolescent boy's voice, walking alongside her. "Not a weasel. Do you study at all?"
Minako flipped her hair over her shoulder irritably, glaring down at the otter. "I study! Sometimes. Hey, you talk too much! Where did you come from, anyway? You still haven't explained."
"I've always been here," said the otter, vaguely. And then: "Can you pick me up, please? I'm not that heavy."
Minako sighed, knelt down, and allowed the otter to climb into her arms. There was a bit of awkward fumbling, a bit of dancing around and giggling when he climbed his way into her robe through the hood, and then he peeked out from over her shoulder. "This is better!"
"It doesn't exactly work that way, Fox," Sei stated, sounding a little distracted by what she was looking at in the window. It had been... a tiresome couple of days with the fox.
"I have a name you know," the small black and gray vixen stated, simply, her eyes scanning the crowd of students and adults in Hogsmeade.
"As fascinating as I'm sure it would be to find out, I have other things to do."
"Oo, how about that one?" The fox turned around, looking at something down the street.
"That one what?" Sei asked, turning away from the window to begin walking down the street... only for a black furball to dart in front of her feet and nearly send her sprawling on her face. "Hey!"
"That fine female specimen over there? With the nice rack and look at that hair. Mm, I bet it would be fun to pull..."
Sei turned around, curiously. "I believe that is one of the Gryffindors."
There was an exasperated noise. "You know what? You're impossible!"
"No, I'm just reluctant to... get in over my head."
"Oh, I know, human. That's why I'm here! To help." The fox darted off down the street toward the girl.
Sei watched it go for a moment then quietly began striding in behind it. She remembered the last time someone had picked up the little fox, how odd it had felt (and then how she'd had to pry it away from Lucy's chest). Unfortunately, she was a bit slow, as it was at Minako's feet and begging for attention before she had even gotten away from the shop she had been walking in front of.
Minako had been in the midst of yet another argument with her otter (this one was the merits of going to get butterbeer as opposed to cake) when the sudden approach of the fox made them both pause. Minako smiled brightly, and knelt down. "Kama-kun, I think it's like you. It seems tame, see? It's so cute~" She began to scratch the fox behind the ears, but the otter glared at it from his perch on her shoulder, fur bristling.
"Be careful." He then nipped her ear gently to get her attention, ignoring her noise of protest. "Look, someone's coming! That must be who she belongs to."
His comment, unfortunately, had not prevented Minako from scooping the little fox up in her arms. "You worry too much," she said. "I'll just give the fox back to her, and it'll be fine." She didn't know Sei, not personally, anyway, but she figured there would be little harm in holding the animal for her, to prevent it from darting off again.
"Excuse me," she called out. "Does she belong to you?"
Ah but the fox certainly seemed to be enjoying the attention as it leaned into the touches with great vigor and enthusiasm, tail wagging, just a bit, like a dog.
Sei flinched against the sensation, that weird tingling sensation that started around her upper spine and spread through every limb. So it must have happened whenever anyone touched the little creature. Then there was a closer connection between the two of them than even Sei thought.
And then Minako picked it up and just as it had every time before, Sei felt herself tense a little at the unfamiliar sensation.
"Hey! Hey human! She smells really good!" the fox called, just before Minako did... and buried its muzzle against her neck, sniffing probably a little too friendly. The otter was ignored. "Mmm, I bet she tastes good, too~ covered in a little chocolate-"
"Ah, yes. Sorry about that. She's... a little too friendly I think," Sei said, and to her credit didn't sound nearly as strange as she felt, likely aided by the short burst of annoyment at the fox as she interrupted it. She approached, and gently reached to take the fox from Minako's grasp. "She really just likes the attention I think."
The fox seemed rather reluctant, leaning away from Sei and closer into Minako. "But human! Look at her! Those thighs! You could get lost in those thighs!"
Minako giggled as the fox nuzzled her neck. She was gratefully unaware of what the fox was saying at the moment, as was her own little animal. That did not, however, stop the otter from narrowing his eyes at the fox.
"I don't like her. "She should be staying with her human. You don't see me running off."
"Hush, Kama," Minako whispered, and gently bopped the otter on the head after she'd handed the fox back to Sei. True, the other creatures had been decidedly less...affectionate, but perhaps it differed based on the person. It seemed like a reasonable enough conclusion, she thought. "She's really sweet!" Minako said to Sei, all smiles. "Kama-kun," she motioned to the otter, "is sort of grumpy. Does yours have a name?"
The fox glowered at Sei as the daemon was finally handed back to her human, despite her protests. Sei ignored her, and kept a relatively tight grip, cradling the animal against her chest.
"I'm not sure 'sweet' is the best way to describe her," Sei replied ambiguously, her tone obviously reluctant to divulge any further information. She did, however, manage to return the smile with a placid one of her own. "But yes, she does have a name - it's Itanya. However, the day she actually behaves is the day I call her by that name."
The fox, back with her human, seemed rather complacent, though, and rolled onto her back, looking at the otter in such a way that if she were human, might be called self-satisfied.
"Mnn, whatever you say human," Itanya said, eyeing Minako up and down again. "I can see you trying not to stare. Go ahead and look, with a body like that she's practically begging for it. Among other things..."
Sei grabbed the fox's muzzle, using one hand to keep it shut. "She's also quite talkative, which I seem to understand no one but their owners can understand these little creatures. Quite the relief let me tell you."
sorry for the wait, life explodedluvubbyJune 26 2010, 14:28:54 UTC
Minako giggled, and clasped her hands in front of her, ignoring the grumbles of her own daemon. "It's a pretty name. Is she that mischievous?" She blinked, and tilted her head to the side, tucking a few loose strands of hair behind her ear. "Kama complains a lot, but he hasn't gotten into any trouble yet!"
Kama's ears flattened on his head -- he was not appreciating the look that the fox was giving his human. "I won't get into trouble," he insisted, "but I still don't like her!"
Minako patted him on the head to placate him, and nodded at Sei. "That's what I've noticed. It's a little weird, but everything about these things are weird." She grinned sheepishly. "Oh, you're a Ravenclaw, right? I don't think we've met before. I'm Minako Aino, sixth year Gryffindor!"
"Yes she is that mischievous, but I suppose I can't expect anything else from a fox," and her annoyance was hid behind a well-timed grin.
"Hey! Just because you have my muzzle doesn't mean I can't talk to you you know!" the fox squirmed a little in Sei's arms in protest of being held so tight.
Again, however, Itanya was ignored.
"I am a Ravenclaw, yes. Sixth year, my name's Sei. Sei Satou," And her grin shifted a little bit, toward the curious. "Something tells me I've heard your name before..." Pause, thoughtful, then, "Ah. Well it is nice to meet you in any case, Minako." And because it was formality, Sei dipped her upper body down into a nice, polite, formal Japanese bow.
Or rather, as much of one as she could manage with a fox in her arms.
"Right! Kitsune are tricksters, after all. But she's still really cute." She smiled at the fox, and Kama snorted in annoyance.
"Just watch where she's touching you," he grumbled. "It's not proper--" He made a noise when Minako bopped him on the head gently with her fist.
"It's very nice to meet you, Sei-san," Minako bowed as well: she might've been a bit ditzy at times, but she still remembered her manners. "You may have heard of me," she said after straightening up from the bow. "I don't know if you watch Muggle television, but I have my own show. Eh, unless...you've heard my name around school." That was entirely possible: she was popular after all.
And prone to getting into trouble with professors, but there was no way she was saying that.
lol, still no prob :|bsei_whatJuly 5 2010, 17:17:32 UTC
"Ahaha, see that, human?" Itanya laughed, running her tongue over her muzzle like she had caught a whiff of something particularly delicious. "She wouldn't be all that hard to just... pin down and..."
Sei didn't even favor the fox with a glance, instead cocking a sort of half-grin. "Ah, yes. My father watched your show occasionally. I'm not sure if he still does." A laugh. "Sorry, I didn't. I... preferred to spend more of my time reading." She tugged on her robe. "Guess I was a born natural Ravenclaw."
"I still fail to see how something like you could be part of me." Chided Chao to what seemed like no one. To outsiders, it may have looked like Chao was lugging around a large bag inside a luggage cart. What they didn't know was the large snake that just so happened to be what was in the bag. While Stheno was intimidating and large as far as snakes would be, that still didn't hide the fact that snakes weren't exactly known for their long distance travel. Not to mention that Stheno was still a large and intimidating snake, leaving any option to let the Cobra travel amongst the greater public right out of practical. Thankfully, Stheno admitted to the logic despite being carried in such an undignified way, her pale green eye could still be seen in the small opening left at the top of the bag.
"Seeing the sort of 'friends' you have made, I can't say I'm surprised." Mused the snake's voice. Before Chao could even answer, it continued. "While we both can understand that finding allies amongst enemies is the path to success, that doesn't mean you need to reduce yourself to their impotent standards. You and I both know we're better than them."
"Even if that were true and let me tell you it isn't," Chao started, turning around to glare down at the bag while she continued moving. "That doesn't mean I would ever act like y-ahh!"
Maybe she should have paid more attention where she was going. If she had, she probably wouldn't have run into someone from behind. She quickly scooted her cart back and looked up at the person with an apologetic smile.
"S-sorry about that, I didn't know where I was-" That's when she noticed who it was. She could feel her cheeks start to burn a little in a light shade of pink. "S-Sei!"
... And the second time that day, Sei nearly found herself tripping over her fox and falling flat on her face.
Apparently grace and dignity weren't entirely the strong suits of anyone outside of Lillian, and it was beginning to rub off. The fox was out of the way though, and Sei managed to right herself after only a couple heavy steps to try to regain her posture.
And then a voice she knew spoke as she turned around, and she brightened up a bit. Well, that made the apology part a lot less awkward.
The fox just about jumped for joy, instead, it trotted right up to Chao's feet and started sniffing around her feet, ankles, lower legs, slowly making its way up.
"Er... good day, Chao," Sei replied, grinning easily. "Don't worry too much about it." She looked over the other girl's shoulder - not much of a challenge given their relative differences in height, at the bag behind her. "Looks like you're distracted trying to keep that bulky thing in line."
"Dear God this one smells nice," the fox commented, from somewhere around Chao's knees.
Sei ignored it, but before she could try to continue on with her conversation, the fox rounded back to the fore, reared onto its hind legs, planted its forepaws against Chao's legs... and planted its nose firmly in her crotch.
"Itanya!"
"Ohhh. Untouched, too. I bet she doesn't even go after herself that often... mmm that's a nice smell..."
Chao wasn't surprised just how cute Sei's animal companion looked. Her upperclassman was a charming girl and their previous meeting went pretty well. Finding out that Sei ended up with a fox only gave her a near confirmation that Sei was an okay woman.
She giggled at fox, leaning herself down to scratch behind the fox's ear. The back of Chao's mind muddled in disgust, making it quite plain that Stheno knew what Chao was doing and probably not liking the attention Chao was giving to something other than her.
Chao beamed at the fox, not bothered one bit that it was so excited. It was almost natural to coo at the vixen. "I bet you never go out in very many walks, do you? Such a lovely girl!~"
Of course, that sort of changed when Chao felt its muzzle press itself against her...in a certain spot. It certainly didn't make it less uncomfortable that Chao decided to wear a dress that day.
"Aah-No!" She squealed, trying to push the fox's head away from where it was though still laughing. She was sure it was an accident..or just a dog thing. They did sniff each other's butts after all. "No no, bad girl. That's not where you should put anything."
Behind her, the bag twisted and shook, an angry hiss emanating from inside it. "How utterly disgusting! How dare it try to defile my partner with I-It's filthy...Nnngh!"
Chao didn't have to push long, as the silvery-black fox found itself grabbed by the scruff of the neck and pulled backward. Of course, it went rather easily, as though it had given up on its little endeavor as soon as Sei had grabbed it.
Chuckling softly, it padded around behind Sei's back, and flopped on the ground, panting. "Not where you should put anything? Damn, she really is an utter virgin! Oh human, human! You should teach her the kinds of things you can put there. I bet it'll make her squeal in a most wonderful way~" Oh, but there was the issue of the hissing, moving bag on the holder. Stheno may have been mad, but Itanya was as much a troll as her human. The fox stared at the bag, then slowly ran its tongue all over its muzzle, as though licking its chops following a delicious meal.
Sei was not paying attention to it, she'd learned to ignore it the first day.
No, Sei was instead watching the bag move, a little uneasily. "Don't tell me that's your... daemon... thing."
"Aww, there's no need to be so rough with her." While terribly embarrassing as it was, the fox was pretty adorable. A feeling that her own Daemon made clear wasn't shared, but what did a snake know? Chao gave her friend a reluctant pout, but wasn't going to chide her friend over how she treated her own animal. Instead, she just gave Itanya a pleasant smile as she watch it flop itself behind its owner. W-was it licking its chops?
Though she may be in the bag, Stheno had fairly good vision from the tiny opening in the top. Whatever anger the Daemon felt for the previous disgrace, was nothing to livid hatred it felt now. She didn't even need to talk as the tempered hiss grew even louder, its incredible length pressing up against the length in the hopes it would snap. Unfortunately, her master made sure the bag was sturdy to decrease any random surprises.
"Erm, y-yes. yes it is." The inhabitants of Daemons was interesting to be sure, but there was just something really...uncomfortable of being given such an obvious Slytherin choice. There weren't really any good symbolism that came with the long reptile and Stheno's self-superiority attitude only confirmed her aversion.
"Pardon me a second." Chao quickly raised a finger before turning around to push down her Daemon's head as it just started to push itself from the opening in the bag.
"Stay in there and don't get so worked up!" Chao commanded with a glare at the bag. Besides, you always claim to be of higher standard than everyone else in this school, that should include temperament. Show some class.
"Amusing." The Cobra answered back, its voice and emotion anything but humored. "There's a difference between tolerance for actions of the inept and inbred, and outrage over openly devaluing our existence. I'm sure it won't happen again if we-"
No. Chao thought immediately, knowing full well what the Cobra wanted. She wasn't even going to entertain the notion further and turned back around toward Sei with a mild smile.
The snake only continued, its tone growing back into a more cruel confidence. "It would be pleasant to see it squirm and whimper as the life seeps from its wretched existence, no? I doubt even your female friend would miss such a foul aspect of herself. We would be doing her a service."
Chao wanted to frown at her daemon, but did nothing to show it. Instead, she focused more heavily on Sei. "S-so, what brings you out to Hogsmeade?"
Oh, it was a nice place, and the weather was good. The shops were plentiful, and there was definitely a nice atmosphere to the place.
