WHO: thehankinator & not_a_dreck LOCATION: Gryffindor Common Room WEEK: 59 TIME: Evening WHAT: Yuki helped to debrief Luke, but now it's time to kick it up a notch. Bam! RATING: PG.
Hank chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "I'm uh, sorry about that. Helper just got here and well, still isn't use to having so many people around. But don't worry, it'll pass." Smiling, Hank followed Luke over to the box that he had set down on the floor. "Sort of. First of all, you need a TV to play the Gamestation, because all the TV can do is let you watch TV shows. But once you hook this bad boy up, you can play all sorts of games." He grinned, although it faded as there came a rattle from the Gamestation, but it was nothing like the look Luke gave him.
"N- No! It's okay, dude, there isn't anybody in there. Must just be a lose wire or something." Giving Luke a reassuring smile, Hank picked up one of the games, Larry Craft; Cave Spelunker. "My Gamestation plays all sorts of games, like this one, where you play as Larry, and you go around finding treasure in caves, and beating up bad guys and mummies! Or- Or- Or this one, Ghosthunters." He dropped the one in favor of another. "In this one you and your team fight ghosts. It's so much fun! Some of them are multiplayer, too, which means that we would both be able to play, like er, Group Stronghold 2! It's probably one of my favorite games."
It was then that Helper returned, wearing a lampshade, and bumping into all sorts of thinks trying to shake it looks. He starting beeping again, but stopped as Hank lifted the shade off of him. "Helper, say sorry to Luke right now." Helper turned to him, beeping his apologizes, before hanging his head and making his way over for a hug.
The look of panic and despair start to wash away when Hank reassures him that he has not committed some form of hate crime. He tilts his head curiously trying to picture how they could do all this with a few little trinkets, yet still claim muggles had no form of magic.
"And they do all that without any magic?!" He says taking the games as Hank passes them over to pick up another. He glances up when he hears a metallic crash in the common room, as Helper nosily announced his return. "What the-" He looked between the blond boy and the metal muggle as he ordered it to apologize then stared with wide eyes as it turned to face him.
"Ah..." He frowned at the sounds it made wondering if that was it's attempt at talking before it was suddenly advancing towards him. "W-what's it doing?!" He wasn't sure if he should be running or holding still in hopes that it would think he was just some furniture.
He makes another startled sound when metallic arms wrap around him and the creatures makes more bleeping sounds. "Ah-ha... t-there there big guy..." He murmurs awkwardly and uses the hand not holding a pile of video games to pat it on it's metal shoulder.
Man. Wizards sure were weird. Hank never spent a lot of time in the Magical World, despite having been born there, but that was 'cause pop didn't have much luck peddling science as superior to magic. It wasn't long after that they moved to the Muggle World, and come to think of it, Hank was sort of glad that they had.
"Sure. It's called technology. Science, too." He smiled, "But you know what. If you think those Journals you have are cool, you should hear about what the Muggles use. It's called, brace yourself, the Internet. It's made up of a series of tubes, or something, but it's awesome. It does all of the things a Journal does, but more."
He scoots closer and shows Luke his wrist communicator. "See this thing. It's my two way satellite communicator. It's sort of like a phone, but way more cool. He stood up, and went back over to one of the boxes as Helper went to take that hug.
"I think Helper wants to give you a hug, dude." He chuckles, watching as Helper slowly pulls away, booping more nonsense at Luke. "Yeah. Helper says that he's sorry for scaring you, and that he didn't mean to."
