Name(s): Rangiku, Cloud, Ashe, Shalice, anyone who is interested in the Dueling Club (either for Dueling or learning or just watching)
Location: Great Hall
Day: 12
Time: After classes, before dinner
Rating: PG-13, to be on the safe side (swearing and uh, dueling violence - because you know what our staff, faculty and students are like.)
Having spent the better part of the morning slumped over her desk sleeping off the drama of the day and two nights prior, Rangiku awoke to a bottle of her finest anti-hangover potion and the horrifying sight of a drunken scrawl to Ashe, which she only hoped hadn't done more damage to the already fragile situation. She pushed the thought from her mind in favour of concentrating on the Dueling Club, the first meeting of which was meant to take place that afternoon.
Thank God for distractions.
She spent the better part of the afternoon in the Great Hall rearranging things for the Dueling Club, complete with a giant banner announcing club. For once, it was sparkle free, but that was in no way a reflection of her mood. At all. It was totally to keep people from getting any more aggravated.
....Right.
The tables were all pushed to the sides and mats covered the floor to protect any students who fell... Or were somehow blasted off their feet. Waiting for the time to come for the meeting to start, Rangiku paced up and down the elevated platform where the Headmaster usually gave his speeches. She might usually be slumped in a chair and napping, but her mind was whirling from, well, everything. Rangiku hadn't, however, forgotten her promise that people would only be able to come to the club if they had attended all their classes for the day. The blonde cast a ward on the entrances to keep anyone from entering who hadn't been at all their classes.
Rangiku went to one of the tables on the platform, where she had four swords resting. Picking up her katana, Haineko, she swung it in an idle arch to refamiliarise herself with its weight and balance. She didn't have an exact plan for todays club, but if she could catch their interest with a couple of demonstrations of magic and sword dueling, then it would be all the better.
((Important! OOC: Okay! This is kind of what I have planned:
Cloud, Shalice, Ashelia and Rangiku are all going to be doing demonstration duels for the students - Cloud & Shalice and Ashelia & Rangiku. Students are welcome to watch or not watch, although I am starting a separate thread for observers of each demonstration duel to keep it simple. (Actually, I'll add a starting for some of the different threads for the sake of organisation, and then people can start dueling threads - but I'll explain that a little more in a second.) I won't put these in until after Ran's little intro speech, just to make sure that everything is dandy and there is no confusion.
Other staff, faculty and the ghosts - if they feel so inclined - are welcome to demonstrate things for students and supervise (I didn't want to make assumptions on who'd be there beyond those four.) That'd mean that they can all intercede if students are getting out of hand, or if they want to show them something or for whatever reason that character might want to interrupt.
Pairs will all start an individual thread for their duels, so that it doesn't get crazy and confusing and so we can hopefully avoid any unnecessary hold-ups. Spectators to specific duels could also maybe start threads from the original post for whichever duel, so that they can be close together (so people know they are related) and so that the duelers don't have to wait for interaction from other people too much. Of course this is flexible, because sometimes people are going to banter with their friends or whoever is watching them, but for the sake of a starting point, separate threads seems nice and easy. Bear in mind there are staff, teachers, etc.
Also, fun is a requirement. I force fun on all of you. You will enjoy this log, so help me!))
