Kaoru let out a light laugh, as usual after so long he noticed Hikaru seems to be in one of those types of moods. "I know it's boring, but if we don't get the work done and we fail we'll get a Howler from mother...remember the last time we got sent one, it wasn't very nice."

He closed his book looking down at what he had written, not sure as to why the teacher had asked them to do this in the lesson in the first place, after all they weren't exactly at that age yet to be able to understand what some of it is. Kaoru pushed the book to the side as he glanced over at Hikaru, who had leant on him and still was, "Are you stuck on something, is that why your complaining?"

"Well, I'm not saying push it aside completely but rather just for the moment. I'm not interested in getting a Howler myself." Which he would admit some surprise in seeing again, he really didn't think their mother paid all that attention concerning them and their schoolwork what with being so busy with her own work, it was rare for her to be in the country let alone at home... but he supposed she had always been someone full of surprises.

He closes his eyes, shrugging slightly to the question. "Not really, it isn't easy but I'm not stuck per say. Guess I'm thinking to hard on other things I can't really focus on much else. And come on Kaoru, I would hardly call this complaining..."

"Thinking? Thinking of what?" he asked looking slightly confused, as he usually didn't think his brother would think all that much without something mischievous behind it anyway as he continued with talking "...besides anything you say always has a hint of complaint...though I'm the only one who notices this."

"Good question." He mutters with a slight look confusion on his own face, sifting away from the other to prop his elbow up on the table and resting his chin in his open palm. And to explain to someone what's on your mind when you're not completely sure about it yourself. There's a snort of laughter at Kaoru's comment, giving the other a small look.

"At least someone does."

"That's obvious, if we didn't know who each other was, I think we'd be very confused and very concerned as well, if we didn't," Kaoru had let out a lightly chuckle at the sheer mention of this before leaning on the table himself, instead leaning on both hands head tilted slightly so as to still see Hikaru clearly.

"Besides, the only ones who actually know anything about each other would be us, I don't think we'd ever find anyone who would be able to tell the difference, even though at times it is a little obvious."

There's another short laugh as he shakes his head, "Because there isn't anyone like that in this world." Short, sweet and to the point. And saying it, it almost hurts a bit. But that look of hurt is there for only a split second before smirks, breathing a sigh into the air. "Not that it matters, it's fine this way."

They wanted someone to notice their differences, they wanted everyone to stay away... maybe that's what it is, what's been bothering him. But, this is how it's always been. If anything, this twisted sense of disappointment and happiness is what helps but him at ease.

He watched him quietly wondering what possibly Hikaru could be thinking that the moment, he knew something but never just what he was thinking at times. He looked back at his work, putting a slight smile on his face as he pulled a book closer to him, not being sure of what to say to him at the moment.

Not in the mood for expressing he still confusing thoughts to the other, he instead pushes back in his seat a bit and rolls his shoulders. "Enough of that, we need to find something to do. It's been awhile since anyone slightly interesting has shown themselves" He mumbles, looking vaguely annoyed suddenly. "Mostly though, that idiot wanna-be lord is still in need of something after killing my owl though I really don't know if I want to put myself around him; he's so annoying and loud."

he was reading looking at him as he closed the book again "What about the wanna-be lord who killed your owl with orange juice, though I must admit, that was pretty impressive...after all how can orange juice that small kill an owl." He added a slight laugh at the end of the sentence before continuing with what he was going to say "I know he's annoying and loud but it hard to try and avoid him at time depending on where you are really."

He doesn't even want to think of the mechanics that caused the death of his owl, either the guy was bathing in orange juice or his owl had been of rather questionable intelligence to be able to drown in a goblet of orange juice. "That's what so annoying, he just appears all in your face and perky about it. Then again, I haven't really seen him face to face, but hearing him over the journals is more than enough."

"Yeah, I don't think he realizes just how loud he actually is, it is pretty annoying, I'm very close to putting in earplugs if he carry's up." He tapped his quill lightly against his chin thinking be for turning his head "Maybe we should do something to teach him a lesson, and hopefully make him shut up around us."

"Good idea." He mutters, but tisks. "Though for some reason I find myself wondering if anything would work on a person like him, unless of course we made it seem like the spirit of my old owl was haunting him from beyond the grave."

"That's actually a pretty good idea, I think he seems gullible enough to fall for it?" he said a smirk appearing on his face at the thought, "It would teach him a very good lesson or two."

"I would teach him something at least." He muses, waving his hand a bit. "And I think he more than gullible enough to believe something like a dead messenger owl was haunting him."

"The that's what we'll do right...I mean we could use my owl which looked exactly the same as part of it," Kaoru spoke gently a finger lightly on his lips a smirk upon them, "But we keep it a secret from everyone else ok?" He had mad a sweet smile at the end of the sentence, lightly laughing at the thought of what possibly could happen.

"Hopefully your owl won't meet an unfortunate end itself." He muses, tilting his head toward his brother a bit. "And of course, just between the two of us."
