Roxas was late as usual by the time he made it to his seat. It had taken the Divinations professor a little while to get everything together for class, and it had just started with the beginning of the third week. So of course...Roxas had gotten the message after everyone else (as he didn't talk to any of them, of course), and was now tardy. For what probably felt like the hundredth time this term.

He sat down hurriedly, and pulled out his quill and parchment. He dug around for his ink bottle and set it clumsily on the table, accidentally spilling nearly a quarter of it in his haste as it wobbled back and forth.

"Sorry I'm late!" Sora cried, tripping into class. He grinned sheepishly, crashing into the seat next to Roxas and knocking his ink bottle over completely. He didn't notice this, flashing a sheepish grin at the teacher as he was. "I got lost..." he admitted, the sleeve of his robes absently dragging through Roxas' split ink. He turned to flail at his twin. "Which wouldn't have happened if someone had just waited for me!"

Ink splattered across his brother's face, and Sora blinked. "Eheh...oops?"

Oh my, Shalice thought. This, on my first day.

"I'll make an exception for tardiness today," she said, addressing the class at large. "But any from now on will be punished in whatever way I see fit at that particular time."

Looking at Sora and Roxas, she smiled. "Twins, hmm? This should be interesting," she said. "You may want to clean yourselves, up though."

"Often," the professor said, once again addressing the class, "twins have particular abilities in Divination and other related fields. They can appear to communicate through thought alone, or know what the other is doing even when separated by many thousands of miles. Sometimes they will have visions about the other. Obviously," she grinned, nodding at Roxas and Sora, "this is not the case with these two."

"Damn it Sora," Roxas cursed, just loud enough for his twin to hear. It was already annoying that Roxas had been singled out for being late, now he was singled out for his brother's sake as well. And his face was covered in black smears.

The blond didn't even speak as he stood up, intending to walk to the bathroom to wash off his face. Thankfully, none of it had gotten on his robes.

Sora gave the teacher a grateful grin before whipping back around to his brother.

"WAITWAITWAIT!" Sora yelled, standing up so fast his chair knocked over. "I KNOW THE SPELL TO FIX THIS!"

He pulled out his wand an aimed it at his brother's face. He had no idea what the spell was, but that hardly mattered because he wasn't going to do a spell anyway. With his un-wanded hand, he reached out with his sleeve and scrubbed at Roxas' face. "Ta d - oops..."

What he had forgotten was that his sleeve was still covered in ink.

"Sora," she said, gaping at the boy who had just smeared ink all over his brother's face. "I appreciate your enthusiasm, but maybe we should just let him go to the bathroom, okay?" She waved Roxas off, hoping that by the time he came back, his spiking emotion would be slightly calmed.

Roxas hurried out of the room, before he did something that he'd probably regret. Even if they didn't get along very well, Sora was still his brother, and he didn't want to hurt him...

He splashed some cold water on his face, trying to calm down a little. His twin could be such an idiot sometimes, it was really aggravating.

The blond made it back to his seat a few minutes later.

Sora stared forlornly after his twin before summoning a smile for the professor. "All of my teachers say I'm enthusiastic!" he said happily. "Although...Professor Ashe seems to think that's a bad thing..." He shook his head and reigniting the smile. "I'm lookng forward to this year, Professor! I really just took Divination for an easy subject like last year, but it would be neat to actually learn something too."

He grabbed his sleeve again and, tongue sticking out of his mouth, proceeded to clean up the rest of the ink. His robes were black anyway, not like it mattered. Then he grabbed a roll of parchment and proceeded to scrawl a visual representation of him begging forgiveness from Roxas - in stick figure form.

He sat back when Roxas slammed himself back into his seat again. Pleased with the results, he slid the parchment over to his twin.

Shalice grinned at Sora, resisting the urge to ruffle his hair. There was something infectiously endearing about the boy, though she could also see how it could become annoying to be exposed to it all the time.

"I'm pleased you have found you can turn your enthusiasm toward this particular subject!" she said. "Perhaps with Professor Ashe you may want to try toning it down a bit, hmm?" she suggested. "Some people don't react as well to it as others. And that!" she said, turning back to the class, "is something we will be talking about over the course of the year. How to read the energy surrounding a person so you are better able to react to their wants and needs, and avoid them if those wants and needs conflict with your own."

The professor nodded as Roxas re-entered the room, pleased to see that he had calmed down at least a little, and laughing silently in her head when she noticed Sora passing a note.

"Sora," she said. "I know you want to make up with your brother, but perhaps that can wait until I'm done lecturing, ok?"

Roxas was in the process of shoving the parchment off his space at the desk when the professor told Sora to save it for later. He almost breathed a sigh of relief.

He checked how much ink he had left after Sora's escapades, and decided that if he didn't have enough to write notes for the full lecture that he'd just use his twin's. The blond of the pair thought for a minute that he should scoot a few seats away, but that would just make Sora whine at him later, or scoot just as many seats in the same direction.

Sora jumped, and then blushed as the teacher addressed him. "Sure thing, Professor! Sorry!"

She was kind of scary.

Subtly (he nearly tipped it over), Sora slid his ink bottle over to Roxas. After all, it was his fault his twin had hardly any ink left now, it wouldn't be right not to pay him back.

Turning to nod at the 'sneaky' new student who had just entered the room, Shalice once again addressed the class. "Those of you who cannot make it to class on time, please don't insult me by trying to sneak in," she said. "I know when each of you enters the room, so please. If you're late, just walk in and sit down, and I will discuss your punishment later."

The professor walked to her desk, and pulled out a book. "Take out your copies of The Arts of Divination and turn to chapter 4, page 203. Today we'll be discussing meanings that can be interpreted from positioning and shapes of shadows." She looked over the class, smiling lightly. "Please do keep in mind that this aspect of Divination is pure guesswork, and that if you see a shadow that looks like a big black dog, it may be a shadow of a puppy, and not a portent of doom, okay?" She flipped idly through the pages of her book as she paced at the front of the classroom. "Actually," she said, tossing the book back onto her desk, "we're going to do something different. It occurs to me ( ... )

Roxas kept his mouth shut. Asking this professor why he should care stuck him as a very bad idea, especially after the fiasco that had occurred around him already.

Instead, he looked around, waiting for one of the other students to do or say something.

Sora's eyes widened. I can asked questions?

Teachers never let him ask questions!

"Oh! Me! Memememe!" He waved his hand in the air a little (a lot). "Uhhhhhhhm. What's your favourite tarot card? What are all the tarot cards? Do they really work? Can anyone learn how to used them? What about crystal balls? I've always wanted one! My friend had one once, and I looked into it and predicted fog, and there was!"

Sora took a breath and smile again.
