Max just couldn't take it anymore. Keeping her wings in like this was killing her; it was like sitting in a seat and the space between your seat and the seat in front of you was too small. Her wings were cramping; they needed to be stretched. And Max was nothing if not eager to fly. Maybe a lap around the school, or that field everyone called the 'Quidditch pitch'. Surely, a little night flight wouldn't hurt anyone.
And so it was that Max, while the rest of her roommates were asleep, changed into her old clothes, the ones that had slits cut in the back for her wings. The clothes Dr. Martinez had given her. Max treasured them, and they were a refreshing change from her school uniform, as nice as it was. Once she changed, she slowly, silently spread her wings, releasing a silent sigh as the white, brown, and tan colored wings fully expanded to their span of 13.5 feet. Yes, they measured; that was one of the things the flock had kept track of when they were still living in the mountains. Slowly opening the window, Max was careful to keep her wings pulled close, to keep the window silent. It was a challenge, but Max managed, the night air a welcome feeling on her skin. Once the window was opened enough, Max squeezed through the gap - and jumped.
Instantly, her wings caught a thermal, and Max allowed herself to get pulled into the air. Max smiled brightly; oh, she'd missed this. Despite the curse, and everything that led to her bring like this, Max and the rest of the flock had quickly learned that nothing beat the feeling of being in the air. It was just the ultimate feeling of freedom. With that, Max began to take a couple of laps around the school, observing all the little corners and details one couldn't get from walking around. Once bored with that, she took off towards the Quidditch pitch. She didn't even care if she got caught; the detention and deduction in House points would be so worth it.
This was a good attitude to have, since Max wasn't the only one having trouble sleeping that night; her flight had an audience.
[OOC: New character, new comment. Feel free to follow Max to the Quidditch pitch, then get her attention there.]
