Riza steeled herself in the freezing wind, not letting on just how cold she was apart from a slight irritation at the snowflakes stinging her face. She'd melted some snow to create a circular area around the middle of the quidditch pitch and a clear path leading to it. It was annoying, but she wouldn't postpone her class because of the heavy snow. Students would just have to accomodate it ( ... )

Lizzie, who's parents had both been very good fliers, was off in a flash. Not wanting to be up in the cold air for long, she did the laps very quickly, keeping her head down. She was by no means the fastest of her class, but she was right behind them when they hand landed. If anyone had seen her fly several time it could be noted that she held back, a characteristic she showed in all of her classes. However, Lizzie just seemed to be happy to be on the ground again, stuffing her hands into the fur puff she had brought. "All done, professor."

Toph hated Physical Education. All it was was flying lessons for the crazy people. Because of her condition, she either sat around and did nothing, or was forced to run laps around the Quidditch field.

It looked like she'd be doing nothing again, as the professor seemed to forget her presence. To pass the time, she decided to make snow balls and chuck them randomly in the air to see if she could hit anyone. It would give her peers good dodging practice anyway. It didn't seem she hit anyone on this round, and she let up as she felt people land back on the ground. Maybe she could hit the professor next time they took off. The satisfaction of doing so would be worth the detention that would follow.

"Tophy!" Lizzie called out to her classmate, going over to her since the others were landing at the moment. "how are you doing~?" The hyper girl was always happy, and even this cold wasn't going to take that away. However, standing in one place couldn't be fun. "You should ask if you can go inside."

Toph had been frowning before, but now she was scowling. Tophy? That name didn't agree with her.

"It's Toph. And if I ask to go inside, that'll just make Hawkeye notice me and force me to run laps while you guys do all your fancy broomstick stuff." She had just gotten an idea to do something while everyone was in the air. She'd have to wait until Hawkeye gave the order again. Hopefully, she'd be able to get away with building a scary snowman.

Komachi was one of the last ones to land. Her flying was shaky, since she had never had much practice on a broom before. She had grown up in a muggle village, after all, and this was technically her first year at Hogwarts, even if she was a second year.

At least her landing wasn't too bad. She was in one piece. There was no crashing. She didn't come out bruised. And that, to Komachi, was a triumph and deserved a triumphant grin.

"Why do people actually enjoy this?" She asked in a low voice.

Riza wasn't specifically looking for speed and while most students raced around three times and landed as fast as they could - Riza wanted to emphasise the importance of basic accuracy first. Speed came after knowing the basics. Riza commented accordingly and sent the students off again, looking for signs of improvement. She gave Elizabeth an encouraging smile when she landed. "You have good overall control Miss Middlemore, but you're not giving it your best effort. Is there any reason for that ( ... )

Arriving late, Ciel attempted to remain unseen angling himself so he was located behind the teacher, rather than in front. PE, was not a favorite class of his and he continually was trying to get out of it. Oh, to be excempt from taking it would be a dream come true, he was tempted to persue a medical excuse.

He would only admit to having any medical issues when it suited his purposes.

The air was cold, the weather atrocious, when was this going to end...

Lizzie avoided the question of her not doing as well as she could. Ciel had shown up and that was very distracting to her. She waved over to him and smiled brightly. She did however hear when she could help a friend.

"I'll help Komachi!" she skipped over to the girl and smiled just as brightly at her. "We can go to the side if you want, so you don't feel like everyone is watching you."

Of course Komachi wasn't very confident on a broom. Before coming to Hogwarts, brooms were only used to sweep floors, and even then they didn't do the best of jobs. Dirt floors defeated the purpose of that. But she was willing and committed to learn, so she nodded at Professor Hawkeye. "Okay, professor."

Glancing over at Ciel, Komachi lifted her hand in a wave before grinning at Elizabeth. "The side sounds good! Thanks for helping me out."

Riza wondered why Elizabeth hadn't answered her question, but didn't pursue the matter. She nodded and smiled at the two girls and let them move over to the side, if it would help Komachi improve ( ... )

Lizzie nodded happily and started off to the side of the field with Komachi. "So, what are you having trouble with? I can watch you first and then see what's wrong if you want me too." She smiled kindly. Lizzie had always been a natural flier, but it was because of her father. She had helped Ciel as much as he would allow her though. "Just take your time~! No rush at all."

He grimaced when the two female students greeted him. If the professor hadn't spotted him already, then they definitely would blow his cover. With a sigh, he waited for the inevitable reprimand.

"Professor," He nodded and waited for her to continue, which naturally she did. The loss of those five points meant nothing.. he briefly tried to recall how many Jaina had taken away earlier. He guessed his total was up to 10 points lost now. The detention was overkill but he was in no position to argue with it, a low his escaped his lips.

Tilting his head to one side and looking genuinely annoyed he swiped the broomstick from her hand. He hesitated starting the assignment. Why did he need to fly anyway,,? In a few years, wouldn't they learn a more effective means of travel, one that didn't involve falling to your ultimate doom prematurely? Or at the very least.. one that didn't involve making a fool of oneself?

He stared at the broomstick with just venom and distaste willing it to disappear. It wouldn't.
