Kurt was glad his dormmates were early risers.
He'd returned to the dorm in the night aware that he'd have to face up to his housemates eventually (and the school too, for that matter) but it was a relief to be able to delay the inevitable a little longer. Despite the unbelievable support his friends had shown him, Kurt couldn't help but feel anxious about actually meeting them.
But, as much as he didn't feel like it at this moment, he was determined to prove himself worthy of their friendship and stay at the school. They deserved that much from him, and so he was finally doing what he'd always dreamed of (pleasant dreams and nightmares in equal parts) and setting off without the image charm.
He paused at the top of the stairs, telling himself once more that he really had nothing to be so worried about, and then started down the stairs towards the Common Room. Quietly. A big entrance was the last thing he wanted.
