This whole thing left Demyx really rather confused. Axel could ask for advice but he couldn't make a joke? Obviously somewhere more was going on here. He didn't know what but the way Axel was acting was totally not cool.

It wasn't long at all before the blond was through the portrait and standing outside Axel's door. Where he'd usually barge in unannounced, he gave the door a quick knock and waiting. If Axel was as annoyed as he seemed then he at least owed him a bit of respect.

The knock came as a surprise really. Axel was still fully expecting Demyx to just barge right on in. Still, there was always the slight possibility that it wasn't Demyx at all, so Axel made the effort to open the door himself.

"Hey." He managed to extend a greeting as he swung the door open wider and moved so Demyx could get into the room. He didn't say anything after that first word. His temper had already got the best of him earlier today. He was not going to be the first one to talk here.

When the door swung open, Demyx was rocking back and forth between the ball and heal of his feet, hands stuffed in his pockets. Normally he would have smiled, but instead he avoided eye contact. It felt like all him and Axel were doing anymore was getting mad at each other.

Entering the room, he immediately sat down on Axel's bed like nothing was wrong. "So..." he started, not really wanting to start the conversation. Why should he? Axel was mad at him, not the other way around.

Of course Demyx would pass the ball for starting conversation right back to his side of the proverbial court. It wasn't like Axel could turn around and try to make him talk first either.

"So..." Yeah, brilliant start there wise ass. "Why'd you kiss him anyway?" And another trip up. It wasn't like Axel to slide slowly into tough conversations, but just this once it probably would have been the smart thing to do.

Demyx resisted the urge to roll his eyes and offered a raised eyebrow instead. "I didn't, he kissed me," he answered frostily, looking away. Eye contact in such situations was never his strong point. Silently, he drummed his fingers on the bedspread, something to do with his hands more than anything.

"All right fine." Axel replied, a note of frustration hanging on that last word. "Why did he kiss you then?"

This was going nowhere fast, and where ever it was going it seemed like it wasn't going to end up anywhere good.

Demyx offered the red-head a pathetic look. Did he really have to answer that? He sighed, knowing he did. "He kissed me... because I was upset." He frowned and actually looked at Axel this time. "I don't get why you're so upset about this, man. You didn't get upset when I kissed Fish before we were dating and you know it's not like I'm about to get with Ren like that."

"Upset? Upset about what?" It wasn't like it was unusual for Demyx to get upset over something, but Axel had gotten far to used to being someone to snap him out of it.

And here came the part where he wanted to ram his head into a wall again. Demyx tended to ask a lot of questions that he didn't want to answer. "What if I didn't tell you that upset me?" Yeah right. No that was a lie. "...Maybe you should stick to kissing guys you plan on sating then." And there was jealousy, rearing its ugly head.

Demyx practically withered, was he seriously asking that. "Jee, I don't know, Axel. Maybe it had something to do with my best friend not talking to me." He pouted and looked away again. He had been over it but here it was again and now the situation was even worse than before.

He threw his hands up in frustration. "I told you! He kissed me! And it was like..." he held his fingers up to show space. It was a very small space. "A really really small kiss. Like the one you give your mom"

"I couldn't talk to you." Oh sure, just open the wound back up there--Axel was starting to feel like he was going to be the poster boy for idiocy soon. "Look, that was complicated--it still is. I wanted to talk, but couldn't all right?"

Seriously, where was a conveniently placed wall when necessary. "That doesn't make me any less--nevermind." He really needed to learn to control his temper if it was going to cause him to nearly spill info like that everywhere.

"Well, I'm here now," he said before he could stop himself. Axel's words stung like a bee. He was beginning to feel exactly as he had a week ago when he crossed Ren's path. The rocker's words and even the healing kiss of brotherly love were now all in vain.

Demyx's frown was prominent "Nevermind? What's this really about, Axel?" He may not have been the brightest bulb but he had known Axel long enough to know when things weren't quite as they seemed.

"Demyx..." Of course he'd want to hear it all now, before Axel had a chance to work anything out at all. Damn it this was complicated. "I haven't worked anything out yet, all right? Can you just trust me to talk to you the second I do?"

The second question wasn't one he could avoid like the first. "Me being stupid and jealous apparently." He muttered, shrugging his shoulders and moving to flop on the part of his bed not occupied by Demyx.

There went his hopes, shattered into a million pieces. It would figure Axel still wouldn't talk to him. He really should have known better than to even think about bringing it up. Count on Axel to make things more complicated. "Oh, yeah. Sure, man," he replied half-heatedly. The disappointment was not masked well in his voice at all.

This time, Demyx actually did roll his eyes. "Oh yeah, because that explains a lot. You don't even have a reason to be jealous, man." It was a kiss for crying out loud.

"No reason not to be jealous? Yeah...right." That's what Demyx thought. Of course he had every right to be jealous, Demyx shouldn't have been going around kissing other gu--oh. Just like that, things clicked and made sense again.

Technically he figured things out, and technically that meant he should have started talking to Demyx then and there. But they were practically in the middle of a fight. Axel wasn't good at emotional stuff in the least, but he was pretty sure now would be a bad time to bring his little revelation into the light.

Yeah right or yeah, right? With Axel, it was hard to tell when he was being sincere or sarcastic. Not even six years of friendship could help him figure that out. "Well, you don't," he crossed his arms over his chest and pouted. Because it's you I like, stupid, he thought, completely missing revelation that suddenly crossed Axel's features.

"You don't know that." Axel argued back. This whole ordeal was starting to give him a headache. He needed someone to talk this out with. Someone who wasn't Demyx for starters. "I could have a reason."
