Chao/Setsuna/Clarice/Galatea - Hallways somewhere on a high floor. timeinback December 1 2009, 00:44:47 UTC
Chao was not in a good mood.

Infact, she hadn't been in a good mood for weeks. Sure, things were looking a little up what with getting new friends and all the sorts of stress relievers, but the more long lasting injuries of the dragon fight on Halloween added to the pressures of Professor Shalice in picking at Chao's brain had done much for her mood. It weighed on her even more especially now, given that all her attempts at trying to reason with the affected had for the most part failed spectacularly.

That was all Compartmentalized now, her typical soft smile on her face as she patrolled the hallways. Aside from the simple greeting and laying out their instructions before their journey out of the Ravenclaw Common room, Chao really wasn't saying much to her current partner on this hunt. She had seen her in class a few times, but both hers and the japanese girl's reserved natures kept them from ever socializing before. That was no different right now. If Setsuna needed something from Chao, she would hear it, but for now it was all about keeping a watchful eye for their targets.

Crises had once again struck the school, but this time Setsuna was in a position to do something other than ogle Alma's legs. She would make up for her earlier failures, and help bring Galatea back to Miria safely.

Clutching her absurdly long sword, Setsuna walked beside Chao, moving in silence with the other girl. She did not know the Griffindor well, but from what she could tell Chao was a controlled and disciplined young woman, and hopefully would be able to take care of herself in a fight. She had, after all, helped repel a dragon.

If anything, Chao was getting very jaded and tired of these crises, especially with them being so close together. You'd think someone who was headmaster would know not to try similar spells when it previous exploded into a nightmare. At the very least, the crisis should have affected her and excuse her from trying to fix it.

As they turned around the corner, Chao's eyes fell upon Setsuna's long sword.

"Do you think that would be really necessary?" she asked with honest curiosity.

Setsuna nodded calmly, evidently not startled by her partner's sudden decision to speak. "If Galatea-sempai is half as skilled as Miria-sempai, then should she become hostile we will be unable to afford holding back anything. I have no intention of harming anyone, but I do not wish for them to do the same to either of us."

Even as she spoke, Setsuna's eyes roamed the hallway. This was her element, and for once at Hogwarts she did not feel any embarrassment or confusion.

Chao's smile crept further, giving a more earnest and respectful admiration at her comrade. She had to guess Setsuna really knew what she was doing and getting herself into. Yeah, Chao can admire that a lot. "Fair enough."

Chao herself didn't come to this hunt empty handed either, while she wasn't prepared for all of this to happen, she did manage to recharge one of her force rings. She was even lucky enough to buy enough parts to recreate her shield bracelet, though having it melt off against wasn't something the Chinese girl was ponder for too long. Neither were very violent weapons and probably more than enough for any of the affected students, but they would be a nice surprise and emergency if needed.

Which lead Chao back to her thoughts of Halloween and something she hadn't done yet. This time, she kept her eyes watching the passing doors as she spoke. "You were the one who protected Komachi, weren't you? During Halloween? I never got to thank you for that."

A more teasing smirk crossed Chao's face as she continued her duty of patrolling. "I was really worried about her, but I'm glad to see she had a knight of her own to protect her."

To be honest Clarice was at a lost at what to do. Miata had not been around to help out and there was also the fact that Galatea...wasn't blind. There was no scar across her eyes and she certainly wasn't a nun. However, orders from the Organization had to be followed, it was either that or be marked a traitor. Clarice would follow them no matter what.

Of course this was made much more difficult when neither had their claymores around (or so they thought)....if only their was something around similar to it. Her eyes fell on a suite of armor, then a broomstick that had been carelessly left out and she picked it up to hold it front of her as if she was still holding a claymore.

Cold hand were shaking, but Clarice tried to ignore it along with Galatea's taunts. "We have orders to take your head, I'll still fight...even if Miata isn't here."

Setsuna smiled slightly at Chao's question. "Yes, the one positive point of that night was I was able to look after Komachi-chan. You don't need to thank me Chao-san, I am very fond of Komachi-chan." A light blush graced the swordwoman's cheeks at Chao's complement. "Please Chao-san, I am nothing as noble as that, I was just looking after a friend."

Any further comment was cut off when they turned the corner and found their targets standing before them...with one trying to do her level best to kill the other with a broomstick.

"G-Galatea-sempai, Clarice-sempai, what are you doing?"

For some reason, the way Setsuna reacted brought a certain warmth and giddiness to Chao's own self. It was inappropriate but the japanese girl was pretty adorable when modest. Chao giggled at Setsuna's blush and was about to speak again when they had just turned around the corner-

-To discover they were right in the middle of the very people they were supposed to find. Except...They were fighting to the death or at least one of them wants to and Chao really should have expected this scenario to happen. These kind of situations were turning out to be a really bad habit around her.

She scratched the back of her head as her only sigh of frustration and her smile twisted into a sheepish smirk as she set her sights on Galatea "My my, you're quite the troublemaker, aren't you?"

It was only to bad Clarice couldn't keep her own hands from shaking, still. Her grip tightened on the broomstick...the only thing close that resembled a weapon. Well the suite of amours had swords with them, but attempting to take one now would probably not be a very bright idea. Then again with the way Galatea was mocking...

What exactly was she was suppose to do?

Surely she wasn't strong enough alone to take on the former number 3 (or current, from Galatea's point of view). Clarice ran forward and was about the swing the stick but was cut off by the two new arrivals. She stopped dead and with out knowing it slowly lowered her weapon, looking at the two new females. Fear in her eyes was easy to spot.

"I'm...on an order. This is a top priority, so please stay back."

Now Setsuna's manner hardened, the embarrassed girl replaced by the seasoned warrior. Stepping forward, when she spoke again it was full of authority.

"I'm sorry, I cannot allow that. Whatever agenda you think you have with one another, it does not involve the bodies you are inhabiting. I cannot allow either of you to come to harm, so please cease this fighting and come with us."

This was her school, these were her comrades, and she would not let them come to harm.

Chao had already drawn her wand with her free hand as quickly as the two claymores closed on each other. Matching in step with Setsuna, she strode in between the feuding targets, though kept her stance angled in such a way that she could easily direct herself to whoever misstep first. An arrogant smirk spread across her face as it normally did before battle, her eyes darting evenly between her targets.

"I agree," Chao followed after Setsuna's firm words. "Its a little rude to damage things you borrowed with out permission. It maybe in both of your best interests to stand down before you end up getting hurt."

A frown appeared on Clarice's face as she slowly lifted the broomstick up for the second time. She was being ignored...not that she didn't expect that from people of higher ranks, which was basically everyone. As she slowly approached her target her brown hair fell over her eyes. What? No, her eyes weren't watering over. Of course not.

"I...." The color hair fell silent not finishing her sentence. She really had no clue on what to do.

Setsuna felt a flash of sympathy for Clarice, seeing the sparkle in the other girl's eyes. For all her training as a warrior, under her discipline Setsuna was at her heart a compassionate person, and to see another in pain hurt her deeply.

Still, she had her duty, and she could not let human weakness keep her from it. When Clarice lifted her broom the young half demon exploded into motion, her form a blur of motion. There was barely time to see her blade clear its sheath and slice through the wooden handle like it was butter, causing the upper half of the makeshift weapon to tumble to the ground.

"Please, we do not seek a confrontation, but we will stop you if we have to."
