Ravenclaw Common Room mr_varimathras November 30 2009, 20:12:50 UTC
Varimathras was not exactly worried, but not calm either. He had been told to guard the children, and had agreed. After all, he wasn't that fond of the thought of being hounded by rabid students.

So, he stood there silently, arms crossed and watching. Always watching.

Teresa was more amused than concerned about the situation, as was her way, but she had been asked to keep watch over the unaffected children in Ravenclaw, and she was not inclined to 'patrol' or whatever the young warrior who had assumed control over the student body was calling it. Standing around while a bunch of children played games or cried or whatever it was humans did was not her particular cup of tea, but it was better than the alternative, and she'd have to do one or the other in order to remain employed. So guarding the common room it was.

As she entered the room, she saw the other professor that had been assigned the same duty. "Ah," she said, smirking. "I wasn't aware they allowed monsters in schools."

Varimathras didn't respond at first, just studying the newcomer with the faintest hint of curiousity. Usual human, usual voice, not so usual smell. Not that sweet, sweet smell of fear or terror he was accustomed to, nor the coppery smell of defiance.

"You don't smell human." Was all that he said, now staring at her with narrowed eyes and bared teeth.

A raised eyebrow was Teresa's only response to the once-over the tall, monstrous Ancient Runes professor gave her. As a warrior, she'd grown used to hideous creatures like him, and not even the most disgusting monster imaginable would make her bat an eye. That he radiated a yoma-like energy did not surprise her.

"Oh?" she said. "I must not have washed my hands as thoroughly as I'd imagined." Lips still curved upward in that near-mocking smile, she leaned against one of the columns that lined the wall. "My seventh year class is studying yoma, you see." The inflection on the word was slight, but there. If Varimathras caught it, he could take whatever he liked from it.

He snorts, not quite amused. Yet, anyhow.

"That your hygiene is poor is not surprising, but that's not it." He crosses his arms, still staring at her, however, his teeth aren't bared anymore. It's an improvement. "Some scientist said that nathrezim and yoma is of the same genus, you know. Perhaps I should... attend your class."

He stopped staring at her, instead finding his claws incredibly interesting.

Teresa ignored the comment on her hygiene, as it warranted no reaction at all. She was as clean as a half-human, half-yoma could be.

"Most of the books my students use are quick to point out the similarities between the two," she said as Varimathras' teeth went back into his mouth. It wasn't much better, but at least she could fight off the urge to laugh at him a little easier. "Though yoma do tend to be more picky about what they eat."

Her words were laced with an almost condescending tone, just shy of outright disdain. It was how she worked, the knowledge of her superiority always barely hidden in her speech. "Drop in sometime," she said. "I'm sure my classes would love the opportunity to study you."

Varimathras continued to study his claws. They were so interesting, after all!

"Hrn. Yoma. I can't understand why you humans fear them so much. Easy kills." Varimathras decided it was time to stop inspecting his claws and look back at Teresa. "Why they only eat... guts, I think it was, I'll never understand."

He yawned. "Perhaps I shall. Does any of your students study Ancient Runes?"

"For you, maybe," Teresa said airily, looking pointedly at Varimathras' long claws. "Humans aren't nearly so well-equipped." She did not make any indication either way as to whether she counted herself among the humans or not. Perhaps she herself did not know. "It's said that guts are all that nourish them, or so I've heard."

She folded her arms across her chest, her posture lazy. But anyone with eyes could see that beneath her robes was the body of an incredibly powerful woman. She was not threatened in the least by the hulking creature that stood beside her.

"No idea," she said. "I don't pay attention to them. I'm sure they must." And that smirk widened, just a little. "I do teach nearly ever student in the school, after all."

This be Medusa, jacking your thread! xD crushedsnakes December 3 2009, 02:03:06 UTC
Medusa had been a little late to guard duty; she had been too interested in what was going on to report sooner. She smiled, amused over what had occurred, when the other two professors caught her eye.

She wasn't close enough to know what exactly they were talking about, but even she could tell that there was some sort of competition going on.

How interesting.

"I must say, I do apologize for being late~" She remarked, sliding into the conversation ever so neatly.

Varimathras will not snuggle her for this. mr_varimathras December 8 2009, 21:45:32 UTC
Varimathras was about to respond, something or another, rather surly, when a new teacher appeared. Atleast, this one smelled human. And... herbs, maybe.

"It is no matter." Varimathras decided to be gracious. More allies meant more successful plans.

A new presence entered the room, and Teresa inclined her head just barely in acknowledgment. "Yo," she said.

Teresa was getting bored already, this Ancient Runes professor was nowhere near as interesting as he looked, and she doubted this new one would be any more interesting, either. The sooner she could make her exit, the better. Looking for idiot children was a thousand times preferable to dealing with these morons. But perhaps a modicum of professional behavior would be appropriate, she decided. She did want to keep her job, after all.

"I'm Teresa," she said, "the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."

Medusa just might spit snakes at snuggling. :D crushedsnakes December 9 2009, 00:00:56 UTC
"It's nice to meet you Teresa~" Medusa smiled once more. Now this professor didn't seem at all human. Not a shock really compared to the demon standing next to her. Warrior type. Possibly not very bright, but who knew at the moment?

"My name is Professor Gorgon. I teach Health and Medicinal Magics. I do hope we get along in the near future."

She glanced up at Varimathras. "I hope you've settled in comfortably, Professor."

Kyon came down, late as he sometimes was yawning rather sleepily. He stared at those beginning to congregate in his common room and not all of them were Ravenclaws.

"...I don't want to know, do I?"

He wandered over to Sachiko and sat in a chair across from her, slouching lazily. "Is there a reason why they picked our common room for the occupation?"

He ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know, I was supposed to study today. Oh well, guess that's that, now I don't have to." He grinned.
