Nanao set the pot of boiling water down on he freshly cleared table and surveyed the scene with a tiny smile of satisfaction. After the chaos with the masquerade, she was especially looking forward to this slice of peace.
...not that she hadn't enjoyed the evening. Despite his ridiculousness, Shunsui had been a wonderful date and Nanao had loved being able to dance with him more than she had been willing to admit to the ghost's face. He had turned out to be an excellent dancer.
A sharp knock at the door brought Nanao back to herself and she stared down at the teacups she'd been absentmindedly holding. Setting them down in their rightful places, she made her way to the door, knowing already who would be there.
"Kuchiki-san."
