This halls were crawling with fellow students today, or at least that's the impression Ciel took from it. It was times like this when he somewhat missed his manor house. The spacious living quarters offered plenty of quality alone time, he could order whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, unlike at this wretched school with all it's rules, restrictions, and boundaries.

Sure, he was used to keeping a tight schedule, that was no problem but it was different here. Not his territory..

Briskly, he walked down the corridor heading for the dorms. His attire looked slightly disheveled, but only due to the fact that he was unaccustomed to dressing himself. An annoying issue he hoped to rectify shortly, it was odd not having a butler around for these matters... and a nobleman certainly couldn't be seen like this.

He hoped no one would stop him along the way.

Coming to a leisurely stop once he saw a rather short, disheveled boy pass by him, Al-Cid couldn’t help but notice the sour expression this young student had. He looked irritated for some oddity, probably another student who’s bogged down by all the exams coming up in the next following weeks. Whatever the reason it was that caused Ciel to wear such a forlorn expression, Al-Cid decided to make note of this as he approached the moody youth. Reaching out to pat the boy upon his head, Al-Cid grinned as he ruffled the little lord’s hair.

“What an expression!” He laughed. “You look as if the entire world rests upon your shoulders.” This child should think to change his name to 'Altas' if he planned on roaming about throughout Hogwarts with such a grave expression.

A look of shock and displeasure shot across the young Slytherin's face at the unexpected interuption. Clearly Murphy's law was in effect, this flamboyant guy was all the proof he needed.

With an audible huff Ciel drew back putting a little distance between Al-Cid and himself before replying. "If you don't mind, I'm in a hurry...". What gaul this man had to touch a Phantomhive with such little regard. Not to mention one of the things Ciel hated most was being treated like a child.

Almost laughing at the shocked gaze that streaked across the youth's face, Al-Cid could tell that he caught this young man off guard. "In a hurry? Honestly, now! What pray tell is so important that you must scurry off so quickly after meeting brand new friend?" He asked with a little smirk. This little boy acted as if he was the emperor of his own empire despite looking as regal as sty bound farmer’s son. One thing that Al-Cid noticed about this boy was the black eye patch he had draped across his left eye.

"You are wounded?" Al-Cid asked with a curious gaze. “You poor thing!”

That carefree, boisterous attitude was already starting to wear on Ciel's limited patience. Arching the visible eyebrow, and crinkling his nose as though he was in the presense of something quite foul he replied, "Whoever said we were friends?".

Once the subject switched to the eyepatch, his features relaxed slightly,"It's an old wound". He surpressed the urge to add "not that it's any of your business". No one needed to know that said wound still caused him a great deal of pain on occassion. He was used to pain.

"You must be new to this school.." It was a statement and not an invitation to elaborate however Ciel had a bad feeling that Al-Cid would take it as just that.

Who is Ciel kidding? That was definitely an invitation for him to run his mouth. "Because I said so, of course." Al-Cid replied quickly before the boy could explain his need for that odd eye-patch. Frowning slightly as he regarded the little brat, Al-Cid couldn’t help but hope the boy would be faced with another grisly accident like the one that supposedly took his eye.

When asked if he was a new student, that friendly grin of his returned to his well-tanned face. "Yes, is it obvious?" Bowing slightly towards the youth, he decided to introduce himself. "I am Al-Cid Margrace, one of the many noblemen hailing from the Court of Rozarria.”

"A nobleman you say?" Not that Ciel was really all that interested but it was something to note. This stuffed shirt more than likely had no usefulness to him whatsoever. Where was this Rozarria anyway? Did Al-Cid make the place up? A smirk formed on the youth's face at the thought of this man and his imaginery kingdom.

Pushing the negativity to the side Ciel replied,"I guess that's something we have in common. I'm Ciel Phantomhive". He left out the title on purpose, gettig the feeling Al-Cid could probably care less about it.

"Phantomhive? Ha! What an extravagant name." While he wasn't very sure if this brat was lying or not, Al-Cid decided to roll with it. "You sound like a legendary superhero of some kind." He continued with a few chuckles here and there. "In any case, what year are you in? You look barely old enough to be a second year student and yet you bare the somber expression of a seventh year student." He wondered idly if Hogwarts was just as difficult as the Drumstrang Institute when it comes down to passing exams and tests.

"What has you so down, young man? Girl troubles perhaps?"

Ciel smirked once again, "Superhero? Hardly..". While it was true he'd removed more than his fair share of pests, it wasn't out of arrogance, or for bragging rights. What he did was for himself.

"I'm in my second year, Slytherin. Yourself?".

Al-Cid's next question triggered a noticeable jerk in the young nobleman's stance. Whatever would make that guy jump to that conclusion? "No, I'm just trying to stick to a tight schedule, and a minor oversight stands in the way of that.. that's all".

"Seventh year, Hufflepuff." He answered quickly as he kept his eyes on this peculiar young lad. While he doubted that Ciel was being truthful since the boy looked a little startled at his previous inquiry, Al-Cid didn't know enough about Phantomhive to draw his own conclusions yet. However, now that he has met Ciel, Al-Cid vowed to get to know the little nobleman better. This kid could always use another friend but can go without another foe.

"You know if you are having girl troubles you could always rely on me for help." He replied with a little smirk. Sooner or later, young Ciel is going to find himself sixteen or seventeen years old trying not to eyeball the buxom ladies within his home economics class. What he needs is a ‘big brother’ of some sorts, someone to show him the ropes when it comes down to wooing a girlfriend or two.

Hufflepuff, should have guessed.

Ciel pouted ever-so-slightly,"Trust me, I'm not having girl problems". He left out the part about already having a fiance, it was an arranged marriage in fitting with traditional customs but a fiance nonetheless. Ciel had a nagging feeling that Al-Cid was all talk anyway. The guy looked like he spent more time in front of a mirror admiring himself than anything else.

"7th year? It's a wonder I haven't seen you around before..".

"I'm a very, very busy man. Perhaps you never saw me before because I always away." A pleasant lie, that. The truth behind his sudden appearance here is less studious and more devious for Al-Cid just recently transferred from Beauxbatons after a scandalous rumor spread about him among his fellow students. While a few jealous vixens falsely made the rumors, proving that such a rumor was false proved harder than accepting it as true.

"But I could say the same about you, young man. I haven't seen you around until now. Let me guess, you are very busy person as well?" He asked with a little grin.

There were just a few too many "verys" for Al-Cid's statement for it to seem completely true. Oh well, what did it really matter anyway? Ciel would play along.

He nodded momentarily, "I like to keep busy myself..". Perhaps now he could make his escape, ".. and on that note I should get back to the task at hand. If you'll excuse me..". Without waiting for a response he began walking around the persistent nuissance.

Noticing how eager the youth seemed to want to leave, Al-Cid decided not to pester him any longer. However, his parting words with the boy would surely mark a future discussion between them both. "Alright, alright!" He said with a faint chuckle. "Off to your studies, Ciel. Just be sure to take care, you only have one eye left." Waving farewell to the little Slytherin, Al-Cid decided to continue his tour of the school.

If only Al-Cid had been so considerate beforehand, it's not like the youth hadn't been in a hurry to begin with. At least he'd managed to finally escape, although Ciel had an ominous feeling that this would not be their last encounter.

One could only hope...
