Even if her future did not depend on her studies to quite the extent that her peer's did, Setsuna took too much pride in her work, and had too dedicated a work ethic, to slack off when it came to academics.

She was surprised, however, when she returned to her table with an armload of books, only to find it inhabited.

"Oh, excuse me," she murmured quietly, "I didn't realize this table was taken."

Ignoring the fact that her book bag was under the table, there was no way Ciel could have seen that, and Setsuna thought it rude to ask him to move. She'd find another one and get the bag later.

Less than a little enthused about the interuption, Ciel lowered the book he was reading and pushed slightly away from the table, angling himself so his good eye would have a clear view of Setsuna. She didn't look like much. A bit on the shy, hesitant side.

For a moment he just sat there in silence, staring at her like she was some kind of mere nuisance or zoo exibit. That was when he noticed the bag underneath. With a huff, Ciel stood up relinquishing the table, " You really shouldn't leave your bag unattended..".

There were no positive overtones present in his voice.

Setsuna tilted her head to contemplate the younger boy, unphased by his harsh tone. "There is no need for you to leave, I can find another table, or will happily share this one."

She shrugged slightly at his recrimination. "I trust the intentions of my classmates, and should they prove unworthy of my trust there is nothing inside there that I cannot live without."

"There's no point in us both looking for a new table.." Ciel replied off-handedly. He was already standing up, her bag was already under the table, the course of action seemed quite clear, he would find another table. The young Slytherin had no need nor desire for company, even if they only would have been sharing a workspace.

Carefully, Ciel picked up the books he had gathered making sure certain titles were facing away from Setsuna's gaze before walking past her to sit elsewhere.

Chris felt a small amount of comfort when walked through the wall into the library, knowing that at least in here he'd be safe from running into Catty. The past week had been difficult for him to say the least, and it had taken a lot of self-convincing to get him to leave the owlrey.

He looked around, moving towards a secluded nook to maybe sit and read. Ghosts could still read, couldn't they? He supposed it would have to be over someone's shoulder...

So engrossed was Chris with the best method to read that he didn't notice the nook he was hovering above was occupied.

"Oh man, I am so sorry-!" He started, realizing that he was standing halfway through a younger student.

Really was it so difficult to find a little peace and quiet? Any other student probably would have jumped or shown some kind of surprise but not Ciel, definately not after the earlier interuption. He just closed the book he'd been reading, "The Dark Arts and You", pushed it aside, and took things in stride.

Honestly, the title of the book was the most interesting part about it. The contents talked about the evils of the dark arts and vaguely how to avoid them, but that was it. What a disapointment. A child's book.

"You should watch where you're going..."

"I know, again sorry, I just forget..." Chris's eyes widened as he took in the book that Ciel had set aside, and he felt his ghostly form flicker in disgust, "What are you doing with that?" He asked, his somewhat awkward voice replaced by a serious tone.

Ciel averted his gaze back toward the discarded text,"What, this?". He looked back toward Chris before elaborating, "Must have picked it up by mistake". There was no emotion present in his voice.

He decided it might be better to lead the conversation elsewhere and added,"I haven't seen you around, do you come to the library often?".
