Edward knocked on the doorjam with his right hand, poking his head inside Howl's classroom. He smiled a little. "Hello Professor. I heard you'd returned. Did you have a nice time?"

Howl was working on a few papers at the desk when he heard the knock at the door. Looking up, he was strangely not surprised to see who it had been. It had been quite some time since the student had popped in on him.
"Hardly," he responded with a frown as he put his quill down. "I don't enjoy being forced to work for the ministry even more than I enjoy being forced to teach. But that is neither here nor there." The upturn of his lips suggested he was not nearly as serious as he let on.

He smirked and leaned against the doorway. "Everyone's forced to do something, you just have to pick the job that you hate the least. I'd have come to see you sooner but I have yet to stumble upon your new office, Professor." He smiled a little. "Which really is too bad, you have a lot of books."
Edward stepped into the classroom and sat on a desk instead. "Do you like teaching this class better?"
Re: After ClassslitherouterNovember 6 2009, 04:04:52 UTC
"It's always about my books, I swear. Between you and Sophie! Doesn't ever want to just see me!" Oh, he may have been over dramatic, but he didn't mean it at all. While it was somewhat true, it wasn't enough to bother him at all.
"If you mean, 'do you like not having your hair frizz from standing of a cauldron all day,' then the answer is yes," he smirked. "I didn't see you in class. Does that mean you're not taking it?"
Re: After ClasselricwizardNovember 6 2009, 04:08:42 UTC
"Sure Professor, I came to see you right now. See?" He held out his hands. "No books."
Edward kicked his legs a bit, he was a little annoyed that he couldn't reach the floor when sitting on a desk. He sighed a little. "I don't think so Professor. It doesn't sound like the kind of class I would enjoy. I prefer letting potions mess up my hair." Ed joked a bit. He was in a good mood today. "I'm not good at wand waving, or any of those skills so making up more spells...seems unlikely in my future."

"Well, at least you seem to have figured it out," he smirked.
Howl chucked, "Not even to learn what makes that piece of wood work the way it does? It might help improve your skills, you know." He found it a bit odd that he wouldn't wish to put spells together, even just for the fun of it, what with the way he had taken to potions and alchemy.
Howl laughed, quite impressed. "Well, it looks as if you don't need my class after all," he teased. "In fact, you could probably even teach the class yourself with all your knowledge on the subject."
He shuffled a few papers on his desk absentmindedly as he continued to speak to the sixth year. "You are absolutely correct about wands. Though I'd like to see what you think about wordless, wandless spells? They are quite possible to perform, you know."
A small amount of life came in to those marble-like eyes of his as he continued. "As with the theory of those that cannot perform magic, it's my own that if one does not believe magic exists in the first place, they will discover they can never do it." He was thinking of his own sister on this particular subject. Having always found it strange while the creative child he was was discovered to be a wizard, while his tight-lipped sister couldn't perform magic even if she wanted to.

He blushed under the praise and ducked his head a little. "I...I think I'm not suited to teaching Professor, I found that out when I did the Potions class...I mean I can I just don't think I'm good at it. Winry says I'd get really frustrated with people who don't understand and talk over everyone's head

"I understand exactly where you're coming from," he laughed again. He had to admit, he would have enjoyed watching Ed teach his own class as Rangiku sat back confused. Had he not had an affinity for children, teaching would be far from the right career for himself. He himself worked at a pace much faster than the average witch or wizard and tended to be all over the place on top of that. However, he knew the correct way despite this and this is what made the job oddly enough, ideal for him

"Well I'm not sure, I mean, I think I could probably teach other people. I'm just not sure I could like it. I was kind of mad when Winry said that because you know she wasn't doing well in Potions...well of course you know that, and when you mentioned that I asked her why she didn't let me help her but she just..." He paused. "She just didn't think it would go well because of me. She figured I'd lose my temper..." He frowned a little bit. "I might've." He shrugged. Okay, Edward was still offended, technically
( ... )
"You are human. Sometimes humans loose their temper, even Professors. It just takes time and patience to do it." He wanted to laugh. Sometimes he himself had neither. But the way he worked all over the place had a tendency to do well for him.
He thought about Ed's words. "I don't find it strange at all. Every person works differently, whether they are magical or not. Take myself and Professor Irene for example. The way we teach potion's is far from the same." He smiled bitterly at the thought of the woman. Far from the same. Where Howl was fluid, Irene was rigid.
Howl laughed, "Yes, that is the problem with theories sometimes. People lack the method to fully form a conclusion of any kind or they simply do not think in a logical pattern. There is of course, always the problem that some theories are outdated. People do not wish to listen to new ones and they are not published because they do not have the proper backing

Jaina sighed as she approached Professor Pendragon's office, approaching the door like it was an ominous creature. She straightened her posture, she wasn't one for running away from confrontations and she wouldn't let a little post-Zorro embarrassment stop her.
She exhaled, and let her fist hit the doorframe, "Professor?"
