Feeling downtrodden over the events of the Masquerade, June sullenly kicked at the grounds outside of her hut before entering the school. She usually only came in on rare occasion, sneaking food out of the kitchen when she was able to sweet talk the Moogles into sharing fresh veggies. On even rarer occasions, especially now that she was recovering from the embarrassment of acting like the "sexy nun" she was dressed like, she sought out sweeter fare

Yay! I am so nervous! lolthegreenwordNovember 3 2009, 01:44:17 UTC
“Good afternoon.” Was the only reply Fran shared with the dark haired girl when she passed by. The desserts she snacked upon caught her attention subtly since she was quite fond of such sweets. Making a mental note to pass by the kitchen later, Fran was just about to wander down the next corridor until she heard something fall.
“Hm?” Glancing over her shoulder, Fran pondered as to why this girl seemed so startled. “Are you well?” She asked with concern once she turned around fully. Realizing that the girl was fine once she said a meek “Hi”, Fran couldn’t help but smile a tad.
I can definitely relate, but really, you're knocking it out *thumbs up*bountyandbeastNovember 3 2009, 02:13:19 UTC
The Game Keeper stood in wide awe, surprised enough to dismiss her typical unimpressed expression. She collected her thoughts once again and cleared her throat. "Hi," she said softly but with her usual brusque appeal, "Sorry, couldn't help but notice the ears. No offense, of course, I just never thought I'd meet a Viera in my life."
She walked to her, completely ignoring the small mess she made. "I'm June Hunter, the Game Keeper. And who might you be?"
At the mention of her ears, one of them twitched slightly. Despite the fact that Fran nearly looked as human everyone else, these furry appendages are what sets her apart from a crowd and that can be a good or bad thing. Luckily for her the staff and students of Hogwarts won't be too surprised by her abnormal appearance. Fran had hope that eventually the people of this wonderful school will not gaze at her in shock but rather with a gaze of familiarity instead.
"It is quite alright." She stated before introducing herself. "Fran Viela, the Divination instructor."
She looked over her face again and again, trailing back and forth from the top of Fran's long ears and rusty brown eyes. She opened a coy smirk while her excitement bubbled over.
"Fran. A pleasure. You're a Viera," she sputtered with short fluttery diction. "I've only heard stories. Even more beautiful than I imagined."
Again, June required to clear her throat and her mind of all the excitement.
While it was unnerving to be studied in such a way, Fran couldn't help but he humored by the awed expression upon June's face. The Game Keeper was certainly an interesting woman, one with ink black hair and even darker eyes. If June thought that the only one worthy of interest here was Fran, then she was sorely mistaken.
"Beautiful? You are kind." Well, that was certainly different. Fran couldn't remember the last time when someone regarded her in such a way without being slightly rude. Between the leering gaze of sloppy barflies and mischievous rogues, Fran was unused to being regarded with such admiration.
It was certainly very refreshing.
"A tour of Hogwarts would take days to finish but a tour down the main halls may be more doable." Nodding her head, she gestured for June to lead.
"The rumors I have heard do not do this school justice."
June had a hard time restraining the joy that she was conversing with a real live Viera. It was as though a childhood dream was coming true as she walked side by side with the rare being, while her adulthood dream of a beautiful woman came true once again in the halls of Hogwarts.
"I speak the truth, V," she boasted with restored confidence. "I'm usually not too kind to some, but you're an exception of your own."
"Besides, you gotta figure out where you're going if you're gonna live near your house. Where did you get placed?"
Judging by what the Game Keeper said, it seems as if June isn’t very fond of her own kind. This didn’t surprise Fran since many humes seem to dislike each other over petty reasons but Fran couldn’t help but wonder why June felt this way.
“There is nothing special about me.” She replied with a smile. “Consider me to be an observer rather than an honored guest.”
Finding the other woman's company to be rather pleasant, Fran felt more incline to talk than ever before. Perhaps all the time she spent as a wanderer was finally prompting her to be more sociable. It is not everyday that someone approaches her with such confidence and honest geniality.
"I don't know as of yet but I do desire a home with a peaceful view of the mountain range nearby.”
Walking alongside a Viera. Daddy would've loved this.
June almost felt jealousy coursing past and through her excited adrenaline. Throughout her life, she had been assigned to looking for the wrong crowd in exchange for money she hardly needed. The disregard she held for the majority of the human race was bound into her memory when her father, a fellow bounty hunter, disappeared and all she could think was what kind of man would take away her Daddy. By default, her pets and all the animals were the closest thing she had to family. Meeting Fran was like having the best of both worlds to June, and it caused the color to come to her face in a single time more than all her days as Game Keeper ever did at that point.
"You're a lot more special than you think, V. Believe me, you're a wonder."
June offered a small chuckle and a pat on Fran's back to her last comment, clarifying, "Your school house, you goober. I'm in Gryffindor."
Fran had to snicker at her own mistake since it seems she isn't used to the lingo around here yet. Probably her laden nervousness prompted her to make such a silly mistake or perhaps the Viera are not as flawless as they seemed. Thankfully, June’s company is a relaxing one, one that doesn’t warrants her to be on edge. If June was the Headmaster himself, Fran could only imagine her blunders.
"Ravenclaw, although I was being honest about desiring a home nearby.”
Glancing away from June once she saw a few moogles skitter by, Fran noticed that the two of them were wandering near the library. "Do you come here frequently?" She asked the dark-haired woman. June didn’t seem like the type to lock herself within the study and read a few books but it didn’t hurt to ask since Fran is the type to do so.
“As majestic as Hogwarts may be, if it lacks a good library then it certainly isn’t worth the praise.”
June felt her heart flutter even further. June had always held such high admiration for Ravenclaws during her time at school as a student. her respect was reinforced by the reputation of the students around and their regard for the creatures on campus. The mistreatment of creatures on campus was usually met with a wild rage from June, but Ravenclaws were the only house she never had to deal with.
"I figured. Ravenclaw, huh? I guess you'll be a strict one in the classroom," she said with some certainty in her voice. "Don't worry, you won't be alone in that department."
"I've been once or twice." Of course, the one time she had been in the library was during the entrance collapse where she had been trapped on the inside. "It's been good enough to keep Ravenclaws entertained. I'm willing to bet it's up to your standards."
“Strict enough to demand respect-“ Fran began as she opened the door to the library, peeking inside like a shy duck. “But amiable enough to command it well.” The Viera honestly had no idea how good or how bad of a teacher she may become but she certainly hoped she wouldn’t be an strict professor. In her youth, Fran always frowned at the teachings of the elder salve-makers. As one of the daughters of the village chief, it was necessary for her and her sisters to study the art of salve making once they became a certain age. While it was unusual for young Vieras to study such a craft during their youth, Fran made due with her strict teachers before becoming a fellow wood-warder under the guidance of their more genial leader.
“I do believe you are right, June.” She said once she closed the door gently as to not disturb whoever was inside. “It looks as if it has hundreds-no, thousands of books to last for an eternity.” There was a bit of excitement within Fran’s tone even though it was quite tamed

"I hear ya. Sometimes, I have to get a little strict about how the students talk to the moogles. You'd be surprised how well they act after a slap on the back of the head," June added with a chuckle. She didn't want to have to hit students, but sometimes, their behavior necessitated it. "But, there are a few around here that have a good head on their shoulders. Besides, if I hear anything about some brat giving you grief, I'll take care of ya."
June's recluse behavior caught up with her through Fran's curiosity. "I usually just stick to my hut. It's cozy, quiet, and close to all the creatures. But other than that, I just go to the pens and the kitchen."
Hoping that she wouldn't ever have to slap a student upside their head, Fran was sure that an admonishing glare or two will be enough to make the rowdiest student become as timid as a lamb. On the other hand, she had no idea how disruptive they can be. "I thank you for the offer." Maybe she will let June handle some of the ruffians when the time comes but hopefully the Game Keeper's help won't be needed.
"So you rather be among animals when you seek peace?" To be a Game Keeper, you have to have a passion for animals and June certainly seemed as she had that passion. Much like the wood-warders who would sometimes take care of sickly creatures who wander within their woods, Fran couldn’t help but help but find the woman’s occupation to be admirable.
“I admire your love for animals, June. Most humes don't seem to regard most creatures with respect.”
All of Fran's comments left a color in June's face that couldn't come down, no matter how hard she mentally tried. Matching this, her tone got less and less confident as her admiration for the beautiful creature before her grew.
"Well, it was part of my old job. I can't help but love all animals, especially considering how helpful they can be and how wonderfully gorgeous...and breathtaking...they are," she said with a serenity that showed her slowing mettle. "After a while, the 'humes' seemed to be more animal than anything."
Noticing the change within June’s demeanor, Fran honestly hoped she didn’t say something to offend her. Despite the many years she has spent among humes, the Viera had a lot to learn about them and their expressive nature. Deciding not to comment on it, June’s following words definitely sparked Fran’s interests greatly. “All creatures that walk upon this earth are animals within Nature’s eyes."
While it would be easy to state that humans do this, the Viera always sometimes disassociate themselves from animals. If anyone were to refer to any Viera, including Fran, as a ‘bunny’ they would take offense. The same for anyone who refers to a man as an ‘ape’; refer to a person, as an animal and that would cause strife.
