Why yes, Delita had been staying up late. Not too late, but his ungodly waking hour had prevented him from sleeping as much as a normal human would, rather allowing him a mere four hours' nap before once again he woke at the morn, sporting a yawn.

It was then that he had received his message, and, falling out of his bed with a loud swear, he had bathed and dressed, not even bothering to slick his hair back before going out the door, knowing that the woman would come up with more horrible things to do the longer he spent worrying on silly things.

Silly things like proper grooming, which Delita took much pride in, thank you very much. But he at least combed it, knowing that to properly slick it back would take too long.

He let out a sigh, unused to the feeling of his hair against his forehead somewhere outside of the sanctity of his own dorm. It was...strange, and he had even considered going to correct it before realizing that to do that would dock more time.

And the last thing he wanted was to be LATE.

He poked his head in the door as his usual, stepping into the mess with the cleaning center of his brain already going into overdrive.

...what was this mess?

Did someone get into a duel with a bear in here?

"...Professor?"

Tsunade looked up, stifling the laugh as she took in Delita's rather haggard appearance. Perhaps she had worked him too hard the few weeks she'd been at Hogwarts.

Then again, perhaps not hard enough.

"Heiral," she greeted, taking another drink of sake despite the hour, "I need your assistance." The obviously didn't need to be said.

"So I can tell." Delita said, glancing over at what could only be the largest mess he'd ever seen of this place. Tornadoes running through it was an understatement, he had to admit.

"I assume there is a special occasion for this."

"I'm leaving," Tsunade said bluntly, not one for sweet words or gentle reassurances, "The Ministry's called me in for an emergency, and since they apparently didn't think to train adequate healers in the last thirty years, I'm the best they've got," she tossed back another drink.

"I need your help packing my files. Think of it as a last assignment for my secretary," she said easily, although if Delita was looking close enough, he'd see the slight downwards turn of her mouth.

...Leaving.

The woman who Delita respected as his own teacher, even though his pains, angers, and absolute infuriation, was leaving.

He supposed that it was inevitable, seeing as her skill, as well as her position. The Ministry was always in need of good doctors and healers, and Tsunade Senju was, truly, the best that they had. In this light, it was only natural that they would call her back to them in a situation like this.

But still...

"You do not seem to have much joy in this, Professor." he said, piercing brown eyes staring straight at her.

She pointedly looked away from Delita after her announcement, suddenly finding her sake dish positively riveting despite the fact that the sun had yet to rise fully.

"Of course not. This school still needs a lot of work, most of the fifth years don't know basic first aid magic yet," she said bluntly, her frown not growing in the slightest, "Odds are they'll get someone incompetant to replace me. Ministry," she added the last part with a sneer.

"It is understandable why that would be rather worrying. In truth, that prospect brings me much concern, as well. Before you, medical magic had been a little priority, and few studied it, much less wished to pursue it seriously."

...He paused a moment.

"I being in the latter category. Though time is perhaps a mysterious thing."

He set to work on that hellish box of files, moving them out and setting them in a neat pile, glancing at Tsunade every now and again with his usual searching gaze.

"I'm glad to here that," Tsunade said, "You have a lot of potential, and I don't want to see it squandered."

She smiled, slightly, as he began to work on the monstrous box of files on Tsunade's desk. Although she would have certainly loved for him to organize the creature from the black filing cabinet, that wasn't exactly what she had in mind this morning.

"Not those files, Heiral," she said, the smallest lilt in her voice.

Squandered?

...Yes, that did sound about right. Sitting around, denying a gift that he most certainly had...that would be 'squandering' if he had ever heard it.

Then he glanced up, blinking at her a moment, before regaining his usual composure as quickly as the blip had occurred.

"Then which files would you like me to arrange, Professor?"

Ever the prefect, ever the professional.

"There's a bunch of old ratty ones in that trunk over there," Tsunade said with a practiced bored huff, pointing a laquered nail towards her closet, "I couldn't be bothered with them."

The Trunk.

The same Trunk that Delita had been forced to look through the first day that he had become her secretary, and the same Trunk he snuck glances in when Tsunade wasn't looking, studying various texts when her back was turned.

The same Trunk that sent him shivers of excitement at the thought of being able to mess with.

There were files in there? He had noticed that there were some folders in amongst the old mess, but...

He gave her a well-practiced nod, despite his inner enthusiasm at being able to touch the thing again, moving towards her closet and pulling the large thing out.

The bored air that Tsunade had about her vanished once Delita turned her back to her, replaced by a small, sad smile as she rested her chin on the back of her hand contemplatively.

She had no reservations in her choice. Delita had the drive and intelligence to become a great Healer one day, something that she had noticed especially during the library crisis. He had truly risen to the occasion, just like Tsunade had expected he would. There was honestly no one more deserving, other than perhaps Sakura. And if Tsunade knew her apprentice, it was only a matter of time before she discovered them. And Sakura was perhaps the one person Delita would share the scrolls with. Tsunade wasn't blind, after all.

Tsunade smiled again, hoping that he would enjoy her little note...

Delita noticed it almost instantly. A small slip of paper sitting on top of the trunk, in handwriting that was quite obviously Tsunade's.

...

A note...

"Make use of it."

....

Make use of--

Delita stared. Blinked. And stared. And then blinked...

She was...she was giving it to him. This trunk. This very thing he had coveted, studied from, stared at, sneaked glances into and taken documents from on his off-time. This very Trunk that became a very symbol of what he was doing, and what he was to become...

His hands shook slightly, and his shoulders twitched. Even Tsunade would be able to notice his change in composure...his complete loss of it. Even the wideness of his eyes.

...Which still somewhat remained when he turned to her, expression humbled and still surprised, brown eyes filled with...something.

Something even he couldn't identify.

Tsunade watched Delita as he turned, and when she caught his expression she smiled fully.

Only to immediately drop it, putting on a false stern expression.

"I expect those to be alphabetized and filed correctly when I return," she said, crossing her arms over her chest, "You'll have plenty of time to go through them so I don't want to hear any excuses."

...

He didn't think, in all the time of knowing her, that he had ever seen her smile. It was a lovely smile, mind...something that most men would have an enjoyable time looking at, though in Delita's young heart, it stirred other emotions. It didn't stir the emotions that were common in growing young men.

If his heart was swelling with pride, he tried not to let his face show it, though his eyes certainly did.

Take care of it.

"I shall do exactly as you ask." Delita said, allowing a smile to slip as well. A full, true one, but only for a moment. "Worry not."

"I'm leaving them in your care," Tsunade said, looking away and cradling her chin in her hand thoughtfully, "I had planned on teaching a few of the students some of the healing spells from the scrolls, but now that they're in your care, I trust you'll know what to do with them," she said loftily, going as far as to blow a few strands of hair out of her face.
