Casting the anti-infection charm on her hands again, she went over to them, telling them which beds were free and directing them to them. They had reached a lull in the influx of injured, thankfully.

At any rate, he had someone to find--and of course she was up and about and helping. "Of course you'd be up and doing something to help. Wouldn't be you otherwise."

Eyes wide, she turned back to the doorway. "A-Axel?"
Abruptly the control she'd worked so hard on keeping collapsed. She stumbled slightly, and then without even thinking about it, all but threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly with her own good one. The other was strapped up, healed of it's breaks, but still numb from the spell she'd cast. Had it only been hours ago? It felt like aeons.
"What are you doing here," she mumbled into his neck. "I told you to stay in the Hall."
Reply
"There was something going on in there, I slipped out." He replied, cautiously returning the hug. He hoped he wouldn't get punched for sneaking away from the Hall--though he probably earned it.
"You holding up okay here?"
Reply
"I'm doing all right," she said softly, drawing in a few deep breaths. "Still can't feel anything in my arm, but that's my fault. Delita exhausted himself, Al and Catty got hurt, and S-Sasuke--" They hadn't let her see him, which spoke volumes as to how bad he was. "God, I'm so glad you're not hurt." He was looking like the only one of her friends who wasn't. "I won't even hit you for leaving the Hall."
Reply
"I promised you. I wouldn't do anything stupid as long as you didn't right?" He replied lightly, grinning. "Your arm's okay outside of the not-feeling-anything bit? It's going to get pretty boring if you can only hit me with one arm for awhile you know."

She rolled her eyes, already starting to feel a little more human. She'd been Healer Sakura ever since Delita had revived her in the Library (minus the part where she'd devolved into her twelve year old self upon hearing about Sasuke), and while it had been the only thing holding her together for the longest time, she could lean on Axel for a little bit now before she returned to that. "Tsunade healed the arm. It's find now, I'm just keeping it strapped up so that I don't accidentally do anything to it. Turns out pain can be pretty useful, sometimes. Speaking of, I can always kick you, if you're that desperate."
Reply
"Kicking now? Moving up on the skill grid are we?" He laughed then, though his eyes were giving that arm of hers a sharp gaze. It seemed fine, but looking her over, Axel could definitely see the effect the event were having (or have had) on Sakura. "You're taking breaks right?"
Reply
She toed him in the shin, no force behind the movement. "I like to be well-rounded," she insisted. "Well, with Kakashi as a tutor I didn't really have much of a choice."
She avoided his gaze for a moment. Taking breaks would mean--
Something that she didn't want to think about.
"I...sit next to patients beds sometimes?" she offered. "I talked to 'Lita a little while ago, when he woke up." She frowned absently. "He'd better still be in bed..."
Reply
Of course, Sakura could never really forget that--
If only she could forget long enough to take care of herself too.
"Sakura...I know you don't want to, but you'll have to rest. You'll run yourself ragged."
Reply
Right up until she caught the look on his face, and she knew, she knew--
Sakura seized that thought and slammed it into a wall. And then picked it up and sat on it for good measure. That sort of thinking wasn't helping anyone, least of all herself. She just - needed to keep going. There were still people who needed her help.
Sakura shrugged lopsided. "I hit ragged a while back and kept running, Axel. This is working for me. Trust me when I say if it wasn't, Tsunade would have knocked me out already. Personally."
Reply
"Fine, I'll let you go on that front Princess. But don't think I won't ask Tsunade to keep a good eye on you before I leave." He was serious on that. At least that might get her to sit down more often.
"You make me worry sometimes, I swear."
Reply
She stilled for a moment. "...I'm sorry," she said quietly.

Sakura cared too much. It was like her to push herself like this, he knew that. And he guessed it really wasn't his place to try and baby her.
"Don't worry about it. Just promise you'll take a breather when you get the chance, all right Princess?"
Reply
...She could hear the worry in his voice, though, and her mind jumped on that train of thought. He'd helped her so much that day...maybe she could do a little something for him. "I might go and check up on Catty later," she told him. "She was a mess when she came in, she could probably use some company."
Okay, so it wasn't exactly a break, but it was probably about as close as Sakura was capable of letting herself right then.
Reply
"I'm sure she'll appreciate it." Still, it was probably the best he'd get from Sakura until things calmed down a bit around here. "Anyone else that needs visiting? I can do rounds with you or something--though I'm not sure my sarcasm will be wanted by most."
