Ophelia had heard the announcements, of course, as had everyone in the school-- why the suits of armor had to be screeching so she had no idea. It had upset Claudius, which in turn had upset her. So she was not particularly inclined to follow such orders as the Headmaster and other professors had given. Belladonna was her House ghost, after all, and they got along so well. She did love chaos, and walking against the current of frightened, stampeding students gave her a bit of a thrill. Especially when she pulled out her wand and cast spells to trip them up.

Oh yes, this was going to be fun.

Urgency, ..? No point. More people would probably be hurt by the crowds of stampeding students charging through the already cramped corridors. He sighed, not exactly wanting to leave the comfort of his office for the Great Hall, but sure a shit, he would probably get in trouble for not doing so. Leaving his office at a snail's pace, Daryan stuffed his hands into his pockets as he walked down the hall. He probably should have realized that he was headed in the wrong direction as wave after wave of pests scrambled past him, but with each small heard, Daryan found himself walking with a renewed sense of vigor. To be trapped in a room with hundreds of panicking students was, next to Azkaban, officially his new vision of Hell ( ... )

"Ah, Counselor Crescend." It was an offhanded remark, barely above ignoring him outright as she flicked her wand up to bind a first year's feet together. Really he should be flattered that she deigned to know his name. He was, as far as she was concerned, mostly uninteresting. It was the position he held which interested her, the counselor of a place like this, so full of painfully pathetic children... he must know so many secrets. And Ophelia did love to gossip so.

"Wouldn't you be hungry, after so many years of being unable to eat?"

He was surprised to have been noticed by Ophelia. Pleasantly so. "Mm. Of course. To be able to sate the insatiable .." Trailing off, Daryan knelt beside the first year. He really ought to do be doing something to help the poor unfortunate soul. Or-- not. If he were to grant the brat freedom, there was a very slim chance that it would make it to the Great Hall without, first, being maimed by Belladonna. Why try to intervene with the inevitable? It was a waste of time, and effort. He rose, folding his arms. "... I am curious to see how long it will take her to paint the walls of our great school red." He bit back a snicker. "With this many students still dawdling on their way to the Great Hall, probably not long at all."

It wasn't often that Ophelia met a professor who was as unlikely to help as she was. The thought made her smile a little. Perhaps this would be fun after all. Especially when he used language so full of such brilliant imagery.

"Not long at all," she agreed, still casting random jinxes and hexes at panicking students, laughing lightly as one particularly heavy boy fell, taking a large group down with him. "I do think the halls would look much more welcoming with a little splash of color, don't you?"

"Colour, colour, all this talk of colour." Belladonna walked up behind them, the click of her shoes beating a horrifying rhythm against the ground.

"C o u n s e l o r Crescend," she said, neck arched at a sickening angle as she regarded him. "Surely yooou are not dallying inappropriately with a student?"

A student. One of those filthy ones she would not think to touch. There was something throbbing in them that made her skin crawl even now. Fascinating, yes. But would she defile herself by touching such a thing? Never. Never would she stoop so low as that, she was no mongrel, no desperate whore, she was nothing of the sort and would.not.be.associated with such lowly filth--!

"What a union that would be," she mused to herself, but twisting her arm around to point her wand at Daryan. Silly, self-absorbed little Daryan. "Bang, bang," she whispered, and two bright flashes went off right after the other, each with a shrieking sound that whistled through the air and rang down the corridor. "You like noises, d o n ' t you Daryan ( ... )

"It is high time that this castle went under a little ... renovation." His smirk faded, replaced by a malicious smile as he felt his warped sense of humor returning to him. Chuckling, Daryan stepped aside to avoid being caught in the trajectory of the chubby boy. He turned around, shaking his head as he watched the heavy set child tumble into a cluster of students.

"Some volunteers- Perfekt." Snickering, he nudged the heavy set boy in the gut. "I am pleased to see so many students so eager to help out the cause." He paused, thoughtfully; his smile faltering only slightly. "However, it is only a matter of time before our beloved council discovers a way to reverse this .."

He trailed off, turning around as the sound of her heels resounded throughout the hallway. "Belladonna. .. me, dawdling? Hardly. I see no reason to fortify myself in some room that you could, no doubt, get into." Staring down her wand, Daryan nodded. "Noise. I live for it. But nothing obnoxious." He added, finally drawing his own wand. "Why don't you let us play too ( ... )

Ophelia spared Daryan a glance as she flung another hex into the crowd. He seemed more interesting than she'd given him credit for. She wondered if he'd help her find new games to play. The place was so frightfully boring, after all ( ... )
