[ooc - I just figured he wouldn't remember that this would've happened with every ghost. Plus, he's old. XD]

Iroh was suddenly shocked by the revelation that Ghost Widow had materialised as well. His surprise showed on his face, his wrinkles creasing heavily in his face in surprise followed by deep-veined anger. "Belladonna!" he said under a growling tone. "Stay where you are."

His advice wouldn't be heeded, as flames reached his hands before he could even realize that the slinky rearrangement of the former Slytherin ghost had occurred. The tips of each spurt tickled against his palms, as his grimace became augmented by the sudden reintroduction of burning.

His pain was short lived, as his hands ended the pain by deflecting the remaining flames to the ceiling of the hallway. His strength had found its way back into his old limbs and managed to push away his aggressor. As he turned back to the malicious looking Vetrano, he drew his wand of rigid beech and held it to his side. "Zuko, this is not your fight. I will be with you shortly," he advised with a cautious but confident tone.

Upon returning his angered brought himself to a solid fighting stance, feet planted in the ground solidly as the roots of the Whomping Willow. "Miss Vetrano, I will not tolerate your evil nature any longer. It is time you were introduced to General Iroh Fu Tsanglung, 'The Dragon of the West,' the one who will end your reign of terror," he said defiantly as his wand began to take on a scarlet glow.

Seeing Ghost Widow's tactic to use his uncle as a shield Zuko cursed under his breath, trying desperately to pull the flames back. While his efforts were to no avail, he breathed a sigh of relief to see Iroh was adept as ever.

A grimace followed at Iroh's order to stay out of it. Yeah, right. Standing by uselessly was about the last advice Zuko had intention on heeding. "Not my fight?" he raged, wand out and refusing to back down, "It's just as much mine as it is yours." or at least in his mind, it was. Belladonna was, afterall, his sister's mentor.

While his words and attention were directed at the old man, the stubborn Slytherin was still facing their adversary. "Do you really think I would concede to just watch you get your ass kicked?" Honestly. As much as he trusted his uncle's skills, even he couldn't possibly expect to have the upper hand against a forever-old witch.

(ooc: Eh... as much as Iroh vs. GW would be EPIC it's not in Zuko's character to just do nothing :/ )

General Iroh Fu Tsanglung, Dragon of the West, Bag of Hot Air and General Annoyance. "As you wish." Belladonna bowed her head respectfully, taking a few steps back before she looked up, still in control, the room becoming heavy, thick with her desire to hurt them. Petty irritations, the both of them. "Then it would only be fair that I unveil to you the true face of Belladonna Vetrano; Ghost Widow, Queen of the Arachnos."

For all the spite and pain she had inflicted over three hundred years, all the anguish she had stirred up and drank in contentedly, this was the first time she could truly take up her mantel after all this time. Robes billowing in the storm of her rising magic, the Widow was truly living, truly ready to break them apart piece by piece and let them choke on their despair.

Her head tilted to the side at the sound of Zuko's ire. "You should fight side by side, the two of you. Then you might have a shred of the same presence my beloved Azula does."

And now, and now, and now-- shadowy words fell from her lips that had gone unspoken these many years, words that she need not speak but did so for the love of the spell. "Animus tendo." Instantly, a thick, living forest of tentacles burst up through the floor, varying in size so that some reached the ceiling and doubled over, thick as a man's torso, others thin and only coming up to the waist, but all lashing and living, all creatures unleashed from the darkness itself and reaching to tangle, coil and crush.

Belladonna smiled. No matter what might come, what spells would be attempted, more tentacles would always follow. This was one of the spells that made her a name to fear, after all.

She turned and began to walk down the hall. They were welcome to try to shoot after her, but they did have some other concerns to worry about now, after all. The thought made her smile.

[OOC: lol, okay. |D

Seeing the massive array of tentacles wailing through the air from the floor left a face of surprise on Iroh's face. He had not seen a spell quite like animus tendo since his days in the military. Still, he knew that Belladonna had used the trump card in their encounter as he watched her slither away from the fight.

"Zuko, come help with these," he said with the utmost confidence that his nephew could join him in battle. He reared back, his lips pursed, before unleashing a massive stream of flames from his mouth that ignited several of the tentacles. A few of them wavered as the fire burned at their skin.

"Let's show her what our family's power can really do!" he said boastfully.

The grotesque forest, admittedly, startled Zuko, but only for a moment. At his uncle's words a smirk tugged at his lips, and he took his place at Iroh's backside. Paired up as they were, whatever uneasiness he might've had was all but quelled.

After a quick glare at the Widow's retreating form, the determined Slytherin turned his attention to the threat at hand. With a swing of his arm he sent a fiery surge across a line of impending tentacles, following through with another blast to another group trashing by his side.

It was no piece of cake, avoiding the miniature ones whilst focusing the brunt of his attacks on the larger of the tentacles. And for all those he had been sure of burning to the ground, still more came. The frigidly numbing sensation one managed to inflict on him with a mere lick earned a stifled groan. Shit. This needed to end. Soon.

((just a little ooc note: Zuko's gonna hafta wind up being like, hardcore incapacitated (for infirmary!thread consistency doodidoo) ))
