She didn't want to leave but, with students and teachers looking around in every corner of the school, she was pretty much forced into the Great Hall with...almost the whole school. To say she hated this moment was pretty much the biggest understatement in the world.
So, she avoided it all as much as possible, taking a big, black curtain and draping it over her head and sitting in the shadows under a table where no one could see her. She liked it in there. It was very soothing to be by herself in the darkness.
With a disgusted snort, Rorschach moved to another part of the Great Hall, as far from Hades as possible. The other professor rubbed him in ways that masked man could not fathom. His face continued to shift shapes as he stood beside a table.
If he weren't paranoid highly on edge due to the explosion, he probably wouldn't have wanted to check under the table first, waiting for something to pop out at him.
Unfortunately for the hidden, shadowed mass, he was good at what he did best.
She wasn’t expecting anything remotely interesting to happen while she was down under the table and she liked that. Sunako was one with the darkness that she resided in. She definitely was not expecting someone to look under the table that she was sitting under and see her there, or atleast see the heavy black curtain that covered her with the exception of maybe her face if they looked hard enough.
…She could only stare slightly when someone did end up looking underneath the table and was surprised to see a lava lamp staring back at her.
"What?" He grabbed the black curtain, pulling it off to reveal the girl. There were sparingly few times that Rorschach was somewhat close to the term "stunned", and this just happened to be one of those times. Why was she hiding under the table with this curtain? He stared at her for a minute just as she stared at him. "Why are you under here?" He asked gruffly.
As soon as the curtain started lifting off her body, Sunako yelped and quickly snatched it back from his hands and covered herself with it again, scooting away slightly in case the lava lamp person decided he was going to do it again.
And to his question as to why she was there underneath a table, she answered politely and easily, “I like it better under here.”
This was certainly the strangest situation Rorschach had been confronted with so far while becoming employed at Hogwarts. And considering that the ghosts in the school were no longer corporeal, the school was in chaos, and things like this happened quite often, it certainly would be a mystery as to why he thought she was strange.
"More comfortable under the table?" A concept he could fault her for. It sounded like hiding. "Or just the darkness?" After all, she was covering herself up as well.
“Darkness,” She confirmed with a nod, “I rather be in darkness and away from all the dazzling creatures of light.” She was actually wondering where her usual radiant creature was right now. Usually, he would be looking around for her and maybe joining her under the table but, as of yet, he was nowhere to be seen.
….she wasn’t worried about him at all, she was just not sure when he was going to show up, that’s all.
Yes, he understood the comfort of the dark too well. Shadowing him until he revealed himself to the dogs that were going to be put down. What was he still doing in this room, talking to this girl when a bitch, a filthy whore, was out there that needed to be put down? Oh, he had not forgotten the Widow at all, not after this long.
“Dazzling creatures.” A quick glance around the room left Rorschach unconvinced. Nobody dazzled in here. All were tainted in some way. “Wonder what that is. Never saw one. Don't think they really exist. Maybe you are just making excuses for yourself to hide away,” he mused aloud.
Of course dazzling creatures existed, he would be silly not to recognise them. And Sunako didn’t really see herself as hiding exactly, she was just being cautious and usually the best thing to do when you don’t like something was to avoid it instead of getting into fights.
Her and the dazzling creature fought a lot at home. Sometimes they fought with other people together but mostly, they fought each other.
No, it has nothing to do with hiding,” She insisted, “I just like it better here.”
When Rorschach didn't like something, he pummeled it into submission. Or threw them down an elevator shaft. Usually with his fists until it was battered and no longer looked like how it once was. He liked his fists more than his wand.
"Hmn. You're okay, kid," the masked man muttered, wondering how he had gotten himself into a situation like this. Children were making him soft. He didn't like this. Had to keep constant vigilance to maintain the order.
She blinked and looked up at him. Huh, he approved of her lifestyle. That didn't happen very often and usually not without a few months of having to deal with her being stubborn about not changing. She pulled the curtain tighter around her body and nodded, "Thank you, Professor."
He wasn't that bad himself. They seemed to understand each other atleast, minus his lack of believing the existance of dazzling creatures.
He nodded at the thank you. Never had been properly thanked before, not until he became a professor at his old alma mater. It was weird and slightly unsettling for him. Was he beginning to lose sight of the true nature of the world while the Ministry had him cornered here?
Ponderings to journal about later.
"Name?" He asked her. He might as well know the name of the girl he seemed to be okay with, if not fractionally understand.
“Sunako Nakahara,” She responded simply from her happy little spot under the table. It was an easy enough question and Sunako quirked her head a bit wondering if he was going to offer his in return.
So, she avoided it all as much as possible, taking a big, black curtain and draping it over her head and sitting in the shadows under a table where no one could see her. She liked it in there. It was very soothing to be by herself in the darkness.
