When Howl was interested in a woman, he tended to go all out, turning on his full charm. He was always the perfect gentleman, giving a woman pretty things she deserved as well as his full attention. Ashe would have been no acceptation, however, with both of them being Professors, finding the right time to woo the Transfiguration Professor was a challenge. He had unfortunately not realized how lovely and perfect the woman was until half way through her first year of teaching. Until then, he had been busy chasing after a woman who worked at one of the shops in Hogsmeade. Finding the time to woo Ashe had been incredibly difficult once he had finally made the other woman love him. It seemed all of his advances so far hadn't been noticed by her as more than a friendly
This year, Howl had made a promise to himself that the first thing he would do would charm Ashe. It would be his luck that Headmaster Cid would screw that up for him, giving him work to do at all the best times to grab the always-busy Head of Gryffindor. But now that it was the weekend, the blond was positive her could catch her. He made sure she was at lunch before making his move to leave early enough to stop by his own office before arriving outside of her own to wait for her. After studying the woman for several months, it seemed almost impossible that she wouldn't stop by her office before doing anything else.
So, there he waited in one of his best jackets (red and gold with long trailing sleeves, though he hadn't consciously worn the woman's house colors) right outside her office. As usual, he smelled of fresh cut flowers and every blond hair perfectly in place. In his arms he held a rather large bouquet of a strange, yet lovely off-white flowers.
